As mentioned earlier, some things we’ve been taught and have learned are helpful and benefit our well-being, like looking both ways before crossing a street. There are other things that we’ve been taught that aren’t as beneficial. Many of the teachings we encounter as children and young adults deny our personal, spiritual connection; we’re taught to deny the intuitive and psychic knowledge that all of us have access to. Instead of being taught to trust our own inner knowledge, we are asked to trust the words and ideas of others (parents, priests, ministers, teachers) without challenge or question. We’re taught that, because our teachers and parents are older and more experienced, they know what is best for us. By trusting the knowledge of others and denying our own experience, we’re doomed to following rules created by others instead of creating the rules that work best for us. Many rules and beliefs, because they haven’t been updated over time, are now out of date.
It’s not that we should live our lives alone, without the input or experience of others. Instead, it’s that we want to learn to trust ourselves and the intuitive knowledge we have access to. This information comes from pure source energy, the source of all knowledge and experience.
We’ve established that we return to physical experience on Earth over and over when we choose to do so. Throughout these many lifetimes of experience, both in physical and in energy, we develop long- and short-term relationships with other energy entities. We make agreements with some of them before we return to a new physical experience. These agreements are primarily about having their support, love, aid, and assistance, because we know that in most of our physical journeys we won’t remember that we’re from the source of pure love and energy. We know from experience that we’ll require help navigating the physical experience.
This is why each and every person currently living on the planet has at least one spirit guide. In fact, most of us have several or even a team of guides helping us along our journey. These entities reside in the energy world commonly referred to as “the other side” or “the great beyond.” While not the best descriptions, they’re what we’ve got.
We aren’t assigned spirit guides, but rather select them ourselves before we are born into our physical lives. We’ve made an agreement, a pact if you will, that those we’ve chosen will aid and assist us from their unique, all-knowing vantage point.
Personally, I find our spirit guides to be the coolest part of our physical lives. Whether we develop our psychic connection to them or not, they’re with us. While it’s to our personal benefit to develop a strong connection to our team, it’s not a requirement. And, best of all, it’s their “job” to do all that they can for us in the most positive, loving way possible, whether we know they’re there and acknowledge them, or not.
Love is a key point. Our guides, spirits, and angels all love us, unconditionally. They have no expectations of us, but instead simply love us and do all they can to help us achieve our own personal wants and desires, no matter what those wants and desires are. Pretty wonderful, huh?
Our spirit guides come in many different images and roles. Some are intelligent, loving beings, others are family and friends we’ve known in this lifetime who have transitioned back to source energy. Still others are angels and archangels.
Our guides also appear to us in different forms. Some will look, in our mind’s eye, like people, others like beautiful lights; some will take the shape or form of animals, and others like great winged angels. There’s no limit to their possible forms, shapes, colors, or styles.
I’ve compared notes with several of my psychic friends (can’t help but think of those Dionne Warwick commercials whenever I say “psychic friends”) and many of us have experienced guides who are very thin and incredibly tall. Another discovery is that two of my friends and I all share the assistance of the Archangel Michael.
