The six time WWE World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho returned to Monday Night Raw on 06/30/2014 edition from Hartford, CT, where we saw him interrupting The Miz as he also returned on to live television after taking time off to film WWE’s latest film, “The Marine 4.”
Jericho ended up giving Miz the Codebreaker (Jericho’s Finisher), then moments later, the lights went out and they came back on and in the ring we saw none other than the entire Wyatt Family.
Believe it or not this is not the first time Jericho and the Wyatts have worked a program together, in 2013 they worked together while The Wyatt Family was still working in NXT and had yet come up to the main roster.
On May 2nd, 2013 the main event of this NXT Event featured Bray Wyatt vs. Chris Jericho, if Jericho lost he would have been forced to join the Wyatts. Jericho ended up winning that match.
It is said that Jericho requested to work with Bray last year at NXT, and it is said that one of the stipulations of his returns this time around is that he had the opportunity to work a program with Bray.
His contract gives him some creative flexibility and is one the more respected veterans that the locker room invites with open arms, this is one reason why he was granted permission to work a program with Bray.
Jericho has spoken highly on his podcast “Talk Is Jericho” and in several interviews in the past, noting back in early 2013 that Bray would be on the main roster within a year and a top WWE Superstar within two years.
His numbers were pretty accurate, as Bray is one of WWE’s biggest draws and has the WWE Universe hooked and in his hands.
Jericho is scheduled to be around for several months, currently he is being advertised for events past September of this year.
He will feud with Bray, and most likely have a match at WWE’s Battleground PPV.
