Face It. Liverpool are in deep shit. With the title race edging down to the wire, the pressure is all on Liverpool, not Chelsea. Sure, I want Liverpool to win the title race and see Capty Steven Gerrard get his first ever Premier League title, and clean up his dusty (and probably filled with spider webs) EPL lot in his trophy cabinet. Poor Stevey. When all the hope and pressure is on him to perform during the big match against Chelsea, he carelessly let the ball slipped below his feet and gave Chelsea supporters a huge smile. Oppsy daisies. Maybe S.G wasn’t fated to win his trophy. So before you take a bet with your friends on LIverpool to win the title race, here are some of the reasons why LIverpool may probably lose the title race to Chelsea.
Match Fixtures. Chelsea are set to face Cardiff and Norwich City, who are lurking dangerously in the relegation zone, while Liverpool have to face Newcastle, who are ninth in the table. Chelsea had already beaten their opponents with a comfortable 4-1 and 3-1 victory earlier this season, and are looking confident to crushing them again. As for Liverpool, they had only managed to secure a point with a 2-2 draw at St James Park. Lets take a quick flashback. Liverpool had to come from behind twice with 10-Man Newcastle looking the stronger side in the game. Chelsea will not lose to Cardiff and Norwich City, while Liverpool will have a tough time against Newcastle.
Mentality And Confidence Of Players. Liverpool have a solid home record, losing only a single game in the season to Hull City before the big game. However, the fortitude of confidence have been crushed and the mentality of players shaken after their loss to Chelsea. Will the Liverpool players recover in time before the match against Crystal Palace on Sunday? I doubt so, with captain Steven Gerrard taking the biggest mental smack of the lot after the horrifying mistake. On the other hand, Chelsea look dead confident to snatch the title away from Liverpool.
Magical Mourinho. Give that man a cookie. He basically sent his second team against Liverpool and still won; resting key player Fernando Torres as a substitute. Kenny Dalglish must be feeling bad that Mourinho had toyed with him and still won. Oh Kenny. He must be biting fingers off after the match. Mourinho has produced wonders, and i am not surprised if he did it again. A confident Mourinho is a confident Chelsea. Magical Mourinho? More like magical Houdini.
There you have it. The reasons why Liverpool may lose the title race to Chelsea. I will end off with a quote from the hunger games to Liverpool, “May the odds be ever in your favor.” Good luck Liverpool supporters.
