Imagine your dream boy or girl. Handsome, dashing, and rugged gentleman or beautiful, lovely woman? Do they have shiny dark brunette locks or gorgeous soft blonde hair? Perhaps they are a fiery redhead? Cool ocean blue eyes or green like the pastoral hillside? Are they fair and freckled or warmly bronzed? Tall or short? Willowy or buxom? Maybe you don’t have a specific type and see the beauty in a wide variety of characteristics. Now, imagine their smile. Are their teeth sparkling white or garishly yellow?
Of course you would choose white!
Despite any other aesthetic qualities or physical characteristics that you may prefer, nobody finds discolored teeth attractive! And nobody wants yellow, stained teeth for themselves either. This is why the tooth whitening business has become so widespread and lucrative in the last several years. Virtually every oral hygiene brand carries products, if not an entire line of products, that cater to customers interested in tooth whitening.
But these products can be expensive and sometimes, if not used properly, can even cause damage to tooth enamel.
Now, you can achieve beautiful gleaming white teeth at home with only two simple and safe ingredients: strawberries and baking soda! Baking soda has been a widely used teeth cleaning and whitening agent for years. But now the addition of strawberries provides a whitening bonus because the fruits contain malic acid, an effective tooth whitening ingredient.
To do:
1. Remove the stem and leaves from one strawberry.
2. Create a pulp from the strawberry by crushing them by hand, using a fork, or using a blender.
3. Mix a small amount of baking soda to the pulp.
4. Using a toothbrush, apply the mixture to your teeth.
5. Leave on for 5 minutes.
6. Brush thoroughly with your regular toothpaste to clean off the strawberry mixture. Rinse.
7. Floss to remove any seeds if necessary.
8. Repeat up to once a week.
The good news with this home treatment is that it is all natural and there are no chemical side effects to worry about. As long as you do not surpass the 5 minute limit, there should be no harmful effects on your teeth. Be aware that leaving the mixture on your teeth long past the recommended time limit can cause the natural sugars and acid in the fruit to cause cavities and/or wear down the enamel, so do keep a close watch on the time!
Follow the simple instructions and you will safely and quickly be on your way to beautiful, dreamy, white teeth!
