All my life, my hair has been prone to frizz, especially when the weather is humid and moist. All I had to do was just step out the door, and poof, my perfect hairstyle would be a fluffy, curly mess on top of my head. Living near the beach was out of the question, because that would just be asking for an eternal bad hair day.
My hair is naturally wavy and curls when it gets wet. To make matters worse, me and my hair fell victim to the wrath of hypothyroidism. I was losing strands left and right and the entire texture of my hair changed. It got brittle and started breaking, and just looked dry and unhealthy. It got to the point where even humidity and moisture didn’t affect my hair anymore, due to the change in texture.
Luckily, I’m now in recovery mode and taking medication for my thyroid condition. My hair stopped shedding (knock on wood) and seemed to get back to its old self. Yes, it even started getting frizzy again the moment I go outside. Strangely, I was happy about this, because I kind of missed my frizzy fuzz. I also came across a product that I consider a lifesaver. During my ongoing experience with hypothyroidism, I tried every serum, lotion and potion to restore my hair loss. One of the products I used (and still use) was Frizz Buster by Fantasia. This thick, clear goop-like serum did miracles for my hair.
Fantasia Frizz Buster claims to instantly eliminate damaged, dry and frizzy hair. I used it after washing my hair and discovered that it’s a great detangler. My comb would just slide through my hair, which minimized the shedding. I also squeezed a dollop into my dry hair. I found that this would add some wavy definition and a non-oily sheen that eliminates dryness. Most off all, Frizz Buster is my go-to product to combat frizz. When it’s rainy or humid outside, I apply a few drops to my hair and know that it acts like a shield. The thick serum absorbs into your hair and doesn’t weigh it down. If you’re trying desperately to tame your frizz, try this product. It costs a little under $8 at the beauty supply store, and lasts for several months, because a drop or two goes a long way.
