The video below was taken Wednesday, February 19th, 2013, as Aaron Anderson was accosted by Shasta County Sheriffs. Well within his constitutional rights Anderson was registering voters at the local Holiday Market in Palo Cedro, CA. At around 1:00pm Anderson was approached by the store manager who asked Anderson to leave and told him he had no right to be there. Anderson let him know they were within their rights and would come back to the conversation when he had finished registering a voter who was right in the middle of registering at that moment. The store manager instead reentered the building and called law enforcement. What happened next was shocking and disturbing. Shasta county, California Sheriff’s arrived on the scene approximately 20 minutes latter. Anderson took quick action and turned his phone camera on to start recording as two officers approached and he tried to register a couple of potential voters. At the beginning of this video you can hear the officer tell Anderson to “pack up your stuff and go”. the officer, identified as Deputy office Ruiz, Is seen in the video with arms crossed standing in front of the voter registration table further blocking it from voter registration use. Anderson turned to the potential voters and asked them to meet him in the parking lot to finish registration when he was tackled and cuffed by the Sheriff even tho he had not provoked the officer much less broken any laws. The officer proceeded tell Anderson he would take off the cuffs if he packed his up his stuff and left. Anderson a four year veteran petitioner and voter registrar was baldy shaken and agreed to leave. Anderson was so shaken by the incident that he almost forgot his phone and sunglasses which were displaced during the incident with Deputy Ruiz.
