There are lots of places to get something to eat here in Knoxville, and there are a lot of vegan-friendly places to visit as well. I like my veggies, so vegan-friendly restaurants are the place to go for this particular craving. In this article I would like you to hear about three of my favorites.
Three Rivers Market
Three Rivers is more than just a market. I like to go for the Tomato Basil soup when possible. Have a good bowl of soup and then shop a little. They have a wide variety of loose herbs and great teas. Check out their website and look at the Hot bar menu for what they are serving daily from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
1100 N. Central St., Knoxville, TN 37917
Hours: Open Daily 9 a.m.-10 p.m.
The Bistro at the Bijou
Do you want to visit a cozy bistro? Well the Bistro at the Bijou is just the place with their friendly staff and wonderful entertainment. I would suggest the Hoppin’ John with a side of Fried Brussels Sprouts. Also don’t forget to check out their live music show. The Bistro has extended hours on the Bijou’s show nights and Happy Hour is Mon. thru Fri. between 3 pm to 6 pm. You can view their menu, music shows and theatre online.

I have to say that of the three my favorite is the Tomato Head. The staff is very friendly, food is great and the atmosphere is fantastic. They have brunch on Sat. and Sun. from 10 am-3 pm. I like going down to the square for the First Friday celebration, wandering around and then have a great meal. It is very upbeat and I have never been there when it wasn’t full of people. They also have a wonderful bakery so don’t forget to check it out. Last time we went I had the Spinach, Feta and Kalamata Olive Pizza. It comes with andouille sausage but you can substitute with baked tofu. It also came with red onions, roma tomatoes, banana peppers and fresh oregano. Absolutely wonderful so check out what your favorite is.
