The Marvel film universe spans Fox Studios, Sony Entertainment and Marvel Studios. All three of these studios have been creating incredible films that focus on creative storytelling and good film making. The reality is that the basis for the vast majority of the films is superheroes. While not everyone is into the superhero genre, there is a huge following.
The Marvel Films often revolve around several types of heroes: altered humans, mutants, technological enhanced and aliens. The majority of the heroes in Marvel movies come from these four basic categories. The following is a deeper look at the three main types Marvel superheroes.
Altered Humans
The altered humans are individuals who have experienced an event that altered their bodies to given them superhuman abilities. These alterations might come by the way of an accident or some intentional process that altered the state of the person. Spider-Man gained his powers after being bitten by a radioactive spider. Captain America gained his abilities after being injected with the Super Soldier Serum. Bruce Banner was exposed to an extreme amount of Gamma Radiation and became the Incredible Hulk.
Mutants
Mutants are individuals who were born with the X-Gene. This genetic anomaly allows these heroes to gain various abilities and powers. These mutations create a wide spectrum of powers and abilities. The mutants are often hated because they are different from the general populace. Most mutants do not demonstrate their physical abilities until they begin their teenage years. The best example of mutants is the X-Men because all of the members of the team are mutants.
Technological Enhanced
There is an entire class of superhero that gains their powers through various advances in technology. The reality is that these heroes have no superhuman abilities without their additional technology. Technological enhancements might be a suit of armor, special weapons or devices and physical modifications. The best example of a hero that benefits from technological enhancements is Iron Man. Tony Stark has no powers on his own and it is the armor that allows him to become a superhero. The newest villain facing the Avengers is a technological advancement. Ultron is a robot created for good purpose but becomes corrupted and battles with the Avengers.
Aliens
One area that Marvel seems to continually pull heroes from is alien in nature. These heroes come from other worlds and other realms to assist the earth. These aliens can be an actual alien race, such as Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy. They might also be from other dimensions, such as Thor who comes from Asgard.
