This is a family event and one that is especially enticing to aspiring engineers. A unique opportunity to take a train ride in this classic storybook engine Thomas the Tank Engine. Price: General $20; $24 for peak times (Saturdays and Sundays 10:30am – 2:30pm ages 2 and under are free. Included along with the train ride with Thomas and his friends is storytelling and video viewing, temporary tattoos and more. Guests will also have the opportunity to meet Sir Topham Hatt, the controller of the railway on the island of Sodor.
20th Annual Watsonville Strawberry Festival at Monterey Bay – Located at Historic Downtown, Watsonville, CA (831)768-3240 When: August 02, 2014 – August 03, 2012 Time: 10am – 7pm Admission: FREE! You can check the Entertainment Schedule for the dates and times; it will be updated as they begin booking acts for the festival. Other entertainment includes carnival rides, games, lots of vendors selling foods like Mexican, teriyaki, baked potatoes, kettle corn and more. Parking last year was $5 may be a bit more this year but let’s hope not. One thing is for sure, there will be no shortage of strawberries at this event and you will certainly have the opportunity to have your fill of them.
California Beer Festival Santa Cruz – Located at Aptos Village Park, 100 Aptos Creek Road, Aptos, CA (805) 351-5650 When: August 09, 2014 – August 10, 2014 Time: Saturday 12?30pm – 5pm and Sunday 11am – 5:30pm. Price: General Admission is $10 but there are several packages available at the event prices link where you can order online for a small fee. This is Craft Beer heaven with 70 brews on tap, mouth watering food, bocce ball and live entertainment with three great bands. Saturday, August 9th is Funkranomican and The Fire Dept Band, Sunday, August 10th is Unauthorized Rolling Stones, Petty Theft and Foreverland. A great opportunity to enjoy great beers, entertainment and more, be sure to put it on your calendar, you wouldn’t want to miss this.
20th Annual “Cops ‘n Rodders” Classic Car Show & Cruise – When: July 19, 2014 Located at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk where the participants then engage in a police-escorted cruise along East Cliff Drive to Capitola. The cruise then travels to Siltanen Park in Scotts Valley where cars will be displayed to the public. The following is the information listed at their website. All registered cars will be judged and you will watch the awards given for the best two cars in each category. There will also be gravity drag races, and plice/fire/safety exhibits including a helicopter visit and a police dog demonstration from local law enforcement agencies. This will be a great time for all especially those with an interest in antique cars.
