It may be time to sign up for this intensive 8-week Job Search Boot Camp at Brookhaven Town Hall. According to the Town of Brookhaven, participants will learn a variety of job searching skills, interviewing strategies, and networking tactics that will put them on the right track to career success.
Learning Important Job Seeking Skills
Who better to learn job seeking skills from than the Executive Consultants of New York–a career coaching and development organization? This organization’s mission is to create opportunities for individuals, and in time, equity. The Executive Consultants of New York do not believe in simply finding placements for job seekers, but instead this organization commits to teaching them essential methods and techniques that lead to lifelong success in the workplace. During this program, the Executive Consultants of New York will cover all the essential skills needed to stand out from the crowd and land a job. This includes assisting participants with writing an outstanding resume, conducting mock interviews, and teaching them how to navigate job search engines.
Networking with Local Employers
From May 1st to June 19th, participants of this program will meet at Brookhaven Town Hall once a week from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The dates for this program are 5/1, 5/7, 5/15, 5/22, 5/29, 6/5, 6/11 and 6/19. At the conclusion of this 8-week training program, participants will be asked to apply what they have learned to the Jobhaven.org Job Fair at Brookhaven Town Hall. By the time of this event, boot camp participants should have a proficient understanding of the networking fundamentals and the confidence to speak with potential employers in the area.
Job Search Resources for All Town Residents
While some people may have the time to commit to this valuable job search boot camp, others may find that it does not fit into their busy schedules. If you do have the time to commit, I suggest that you call 631-451-6563 to reserve your spot as soon as possible. On the other hand, if you do not plan to join the boot camp there are still other ways you may benefit from the town’s services. Town residents may search for local jobs at jobhaven.org at any time of the year. Also, residents are invited to attend the Jobhaven.org Job Fair at Brookhaven Town Hall even if they do not participate in the boot camp. Here, residents will have an equal opportunity to speak with potential employers and jump start their job search.
