There are no shortages when it comes to swimsuit selections and many don’t know where to begin looking for the best style to fit their body, while staying trendy. Let me take some of the guesswork out of your search.
Retro high-waist bikini. This 80’s style has made a comeback with a bit of a modern twist! Click here to see a popular choice. For a more sophisticated look go with subtle, light or neutral colors.
Suspender swimsuit. Yes, suspenders. They can be stylish when paired with the right top! Plus, it’s versatile, you can change out the top whenever you get bored and create a whole new look. Bold neon colors and abstract designs make a statement for a fun, daring personality, or go classic with black. Take a peek here.
Mesh swimsuit. Conservative, but sexy. A very nice choice for anyone wanting to show off their beach body without putting it all out there. Here’s one of my favorites.
Crochet swimsuit. There are so many options with this one. With the huge range of colors, cuts and designs, you will definitely find one you love. Take a look at this.
Now that we’ve looked at some popular styles, let’s take a look at body types.
Short women. You have so many options! Diagonal stripes are your friend, they’ll stretch you out. Stick to tops that extend high to give the illusion of longer legs and low cut bottoms to extend your torso.
A bit of a tummy. No worries, ruched and draped styles will hide any areas you’re self conscious about and these styles are typically made from fabrics that will hold you in. Small prints will camouflage problem areas as well.
Big bust. Under wires, large straps and structured cups are your friends. For conservative tastes, find a higher top to cover cleavage and stay away from suits designed to show off the girls, they will have the least support of all.
Petite and small busted. Frilly, knotted or padded suits will give you a little extra volume in all the right places. Under wire can bring you up a cup size, if that’s what you’re going for.
Plus size. Ruched and draped styles fit well, but a suit with a fitted waist will look great. Busy prints are popular as they can disguise problem areas many women try to hide. Also, buying separates is a great way to ensure the fit is right.
Big hips. Go for swimsuits that are flashy at the top, as in a bold color, decoration or design. This will attract attention upwards away from your hips. Unless you are proud of your curves and want to showcase them, in that case, find a form fitting swimsuit that hugs your body.
