Mother’s Day gives us all a chance to say thanks to the woman who brought us into the world. Whether it’s for your mom, an in-law or just someone who’s cared for you, there’s something out there that’s the perfect thing to show your affection and appreciation.
1. A salon or spa trip: Most ladies can find something in a spa that they’ll go for. Either a massage, a manicure, or some soothing skin treatment, there’s usually something for every woman on your list. The best part is this gift can fit almost any budget; you give a gift card for whatever amount to your mom’s favorite spa or salon and they have a reason to go out and do something nice for themselves for a change. Most manicures (according to my girlfriend) range in price from about $30-$45, and massages are usually about 100 bucks for a half hour or so.
2. Pandora bracelet or charms: Pandora quickly became a household name after people started buying up the charm bracelets like hotcakes. Mothers and daughters can get unique combinations that compliment each other, and charm bracelets are one-of-a-kind, different from everyone else, and that makes it a special gift. Prices for the bracelet itself start at around $120 for the bracelet, 2 clips and usually a $35 credit towards your first charm. If your mom already has one then you know that prices for charms start around $35 and go up.
3. Bags or purses: Every year or so i can bet on my mother saying her bag is on its last leg, so why not buy her a new one? They all have their lifespan, some much longer than others. Anyone can pick up a nice deal on a clutch/wallet, bag or purse for mom on Home Shopping Network or Walmart for under 50 bucks. That or one could step up to a name brand like Coach but expect a steep price jump from brands found at the big box store.
4. Kitchen/ Housewares: What mom doesn’t want a monogram facecloth and bath towel set, or a new set of copper cookware. Anything that would add zen to the kitchen, bath or living space is probably a safe bet for the most thoughtful person we all have. Even a candle or wax tart melter ($20 at wal-mart) with some fragrances would be a nice way to say “hi mom, i love and appreciate you”. Bed Bath and Beyond should have what your looking for if this is your mothers ideal gift.
Whatever you decide to get mom, make sure its accompanied by a nice card and a warm hug, and flowers never hurt either. She’ll know its from the heart and that you still remember all shes done for you; but the best gift you can give is your unconditional love and affection, she does the same for you everyday.
