Motion sickness is a very uncomfortable condition. Unfortunately, it will prevent you from enjoying a spectacular trip. Motion sickness usually causes nausea, vomiting and even dizziness. Sit In The Right Seat
Try sitting in an area, where the ride is the smoothest. You will least likely to experience motion sickness. If you are riding a plane, try reserving a seat over a wing. If you are on a train or car, sit in the front seat. Finally, if you are on a ship, choose a cabin toward the center of the ship.
Focus On Something
When riding, focus on a steady point, such as a tree, the horizon, or the road ahead. This will help keep you from daydreaming and experiencing motion sickness. This will also help match the movement you feel and prevent dizziness. Your eyes will realize that you are moving. Also, if at all possible, keep your body and head still.
Ginger is an excellent remedy for motion sickness. It helps to reduce the dizziness, nausea, and vomiting. Take a 2,000 mg supplement, an hour before the trip. Another option is to make ginger tea. Just cut a small amount of fresh ginger and steep it in hot water. Let it steep, for a few minutes. To prevent it from being too strong, taste it every 30 seconds. Other options include chewing on ginger candy, eating ginger cookies, or eating it raw. Ginger soda is also available.
Acupressure helps to relieve nausea and motion sickness. The acupressure point is on the inside of the forearm, at least two inches above the crease of the wrist. If you wear an acupressure wrist bands, it will help stimulate the point. Just place the band, on the forearm. The plastic button or bead, will put pressure on the point. The bands only cost less than $10 for a pair. You can purchase them online, in drugstores, grocery stores, or health food stores. Another option is to make your own, by using a large rubber band and small bead. Also, make sure you place it in the correct position.
