Things You Should Know Before Downloading These Games
All of the games in this article are free to download from the App Store as of March 31, 2014. Not all of these games require you to have iOS 7.1 or higher. However, I had many of these games on a fourth generation iPod touch and all of them ran much slower on that device. After taking these games onto the iPhone 5s running iOS 7.1, these games worked magnificently. To see which version of iOS you are running on your iDevice:
From home tap Settings
Select General then About
Scroll down until you see the Version Number. This is the version of iOS that you’re running.
Now that you know how to check what version of iOS that you’re running, lets get to the games.
Made by Gameloft, this game follows the traditional card game you would play with your friends during cook outs. This game — similar to the original — features things such as tokens(which you need to play), coins(which are used to buy boosts), tournaments and online multi player. The simple, trivial aspects of this game make it perfect for kids, or anyone sticking to the basics.
Created by the Plain Vanilla Corporation, this game is a perfect fit for anyone wishing to showcase their knowledge. In the app, you decide which topic interests you. You’re paired with someone online and asked simultaneous questions pertaining to that topic. In order to win, not only do you have to answer the questions correctly, but answer them quicker than your opponent. It also offers the ability to create quizzes for others to use. If you want something to challenge your brain power — whether it be about your favorite show, or just general knowledge — make this your next download on your iDevice.
In this fast paced game created by Mediocre AB, you soar through virtual landscapes clearing your path of obstacles. It features ‘boosts’ which allow more effective clearing of the obstacles, and allows you to upgrade so that you can hold checkpoints. This game is for anybody that is looking for 3D graphics. and reflex oriented plot that just calls for your undivided attention.
Created by MildMania, this game was nominated for the 2014 Indie Prize Award, put into the 2013 Top Five DB Game of the Year and winner of the 2013 Crystal Pixel Award for Best Gameplay. In this game, the goal is to possess creatures that are out to get you by copying the symbols on their heads, and then purging the creatures. Collect the stars that emerge from them and collect new creatures. With nothing short of a twisted plot, downloading this game is taking a step into the dark.
6.Heroes of Order & Chaos
Another game created by Gameloft; this game is an absolute fit for anyone who enjoyed Runescape or World of Warcraft. This RPG (Role Playing Game) is full of creatures filled to the brim with diverse abilities and powers. From mages to elves, this game exceeds the typical iOS game expectations. Jam packed with multiplayer capabilities, this game is sure to please anybody looking for PC or console orientated iOS games with great graphics.
5.Iron Man Three
With Gameloft at it again, this game is based on the famous Iron Man. With stunning graphics, the objective is to glide through cities and collect orbs that you use to upgrade your character. Along the way, their are obstacles in which you must avoid. Eventually, you can use the orbs you collect to also buy all new iron man suits. This game might even deserve to be a bit higher on the list.
4.Frontline Commando II
This action packed game made by Gameloft is full of first person shooter combat, weapon upgrades, player versus player online multiplayer, surprise care packages and much more. You can even recruit other characters for your squad and have them protect you during battles; each with their own abilities. If you are a fan of Call of Duty or Battlefield, this game is a perfect fit for you.
These last three games – numbers three, two and one – are my personal favorites. These games are sure to have you wondering where the time went.
3.Deer Hunter 2014
Yet another game produced by Gameloft, this game is exactly how it sounds. You hunt animals in vast locations all around the world. On each location, there are different types of hunts including contract hunts and trophy hunts. Your goal is to hunt and shoot down the most notoriously dangerous animal in that location and move on. This game features endless weapons and weapon upgrades. If you want great graphics, realistic animals and weapons as well as smooth gameplay, than this is the right fit for your iDevice.
The last game on this list produced by Gameloft is Zombiewood. This game is for any fan of zombies, movies and analog based controls. With all kinds of weapons and locations, your goal in this game is to become the most effective zombie destroyer. You are also given specific goals in each location to earn even bigger and better rewards. This game certainly surpasses any and all expectations of what an iOS game should look and act like.
This rpg(role playing game) created by gumi Inc., earns its spot as number one on this list for many reasons. This game has fantastic pixel based graphics, daily events, a player versus player arena, endless creatures – called units in the game – to obtain, quests, in-app purchases and so much more. The goal in this game is to obtain your favorite, most powerful units, fuse them together to level them up, and own all playing fields. This game has hours and hours of gameplay, owning a full featured plot and endless things to do. You’ll always have units to level up, potions to make, quests to do and arenas to take part in. If you miss the graphics of the classics, but are looking for a game to dive head first into the modern competition, than this game is just waiting for you to download.
All of these games are an absolute sure fire way to kill time anywhere you can carry your iDevice. I do not claim responsibility for any lost jobs or battery drain. Don’t play any of these games if you aren’t ready to become addicted.
