Succeed, and the president will deny your existence; fail and the world will fall to the Blacklist and terrorism.
Presentation
The game Tom Clancy Splint Cell: Blacklist is a sequel to Splinter Cell: Conviction. Sadly, the original voice of Tom has been changed and the new actor always sounds mad or frustrated throughout the entire game. Cut scenes are poor with awkward lighting and the character’s graphics are nothing to applaud. The environment can be hard to see due to lighting bugs and issues, but then the environment is still amazing. From a mansion to a secret government bunker the game makes the player feel like a spy in places they they should not be. Making the hub area their ship, the Paladin gives the player the ability to talk to your crew, and call your daughter and talk to her which was a great design letting the player feel like they know the characters. The story is one of the game’s best parts. The Blacklist is a terrorist group and the game has you trying to stop the group in over 20 locations in this great 10+ hour game.
Gameplay
The “Tom Clancy” games are known for stealth gameplay. The game focal point is how you play. You can choose to be a stealthy, non-lethal killer with sticky bombs, crossbow, KO gas, and EMPs at your arsenal or a killing machine with shotguns, assault rifles, and grenades. The game lists every kill as ‘ghost’, a stealthy kill where no one sees you, ‘panther’ your target sees you then they are killed, or ‘combat’ where you kill them while guns are blazing. This system lets everybody decided how they will play. As a hardcore gamer, I enjoy playing total non-lethal stealth on the maximum difficulty, a very challenging game, but it is how the game is meant to be played. With all this decision, it gives the game so much for it due to almost every situation having over 3 ways to solve.
Conclusion
Even though the game does not have the best graphics for this time in gaming, it is still one of the best games ever. As a hardcore gamer who is not easily pleased, this game is now my favorite in the series. This game can give anybody the chance to play due to how every situation can be solved differently. I give this game a 9/10.
