Camping is a great outdoor experience that everyone should try. There are many ways to camp and have fun with these ideas.
Mosquitoes are a horrible part of going camping. If there were no mosquitoes then everyone would probably go camping. Bug repellent is available to spread on your body but it is almost as bad as undergoing the mosquito bites. You can keep mosquitoes away by building a campfire and putting a bundle of sage into it. As the sage smokes it will keep the mosquitoes away.
Duct tape has many great purposes and it can repair and hold many things when camping. Take some duct tape with you when you camp and remember you have it when you need a quick easy fix.
Have plenty of drinking water with you. Camping is miserable without drinking water and sometimes when you camp you can’t find any so bring along plenty. And don’t forget the toilet paper. Place the toilet paper in a plastic coffee can to keep it from getting wet.
Soda straws are great containers to take along small amounts of something. Ointment, toothpaste, baking soda, condiments or anything that you only need a small amount of can be put into a straw for easy light weight travel. Curl up one end of the straw and put what ever you want to take in the open end of the straw. Then curl up the other end and you have a handy way to carry small amounts of something. Write what is in the straw on it so you remember what you put in there.
Keep matches dry by dipping the match head into hot wax. Let the matches dry and then place them into a sealed container like a small plastic jar or a plastic bag. You can also make some fire starters so you can easily start up a campfire. Take cotton balls and dip them into hot wax. Let them dry and store them in a airtight container. When you are ready to start a fire place tiny twigs on the cotton and larger ones on top of the pile. You may need to use two or three cotton balls for a fire starter.
Wear comfortable cloths and shoes when you are camping. Bring along clothes for hot and cold weather. Since you are out in the climate you need to bring along what it takes to be comfortable.
