Planning a Spring wedding? Here are three wedding invitation ideas that you can use for your wedding!
1. Butterflies, birds, and branches.
Butterflies, birds, and branches are great symbols of Spring. Keeping the color scheme with pastels is the way to go. A great idea for a wedding invitation may include having a pastel background of either light pink or green, with sprawling branches bordering the bottom and left side of the invitation. Within these branches would be the birds and butterflies. To make the invitation more elegant, have the butterflies, birds, and branches all be one solid color, such as brown or gold instead of having everything be multicolored. It’s important that the background color of the entire invitation is light enough in color so it’s neutral and not too masculine or feminine. For the text script would be the best if you are still wanting to maintain elegance throughout the invitation.
For those who still want the butterflies, birds, and branches themed invitation, but aren’t planning a formal wedding, all you have to do is change the color scheme. Instead of solid colors have each butterfly and bird has it’s own color scheme. This will make them stand out more and give a notion that this is going to be a fun and lighthearted wedding. If there is a lot of colors throughout the butterflies and birds you can choose a white background for the invitation. For the text script can balance out the fun and still indicate that this is a serious affair. It’s a matter of preference on how casual you won’t the invitation to be. If you truly want this to be a casual invitation then don’t choose script.
2. Flowers.
Bright flowers are great for Spring weddings. One option that is commonly seen is a light or sky blue background with a green border and flower blooms on the top and bottom of the invitation. Flowers that are great for an invitation are daffodils, tulips, and mums. Daffodils usually will have an orange, yellow, or white motif, while the other two, tulips and mums, can be any color. For a more elegant invitation hand-drawn flowers give a nice touch. Animated or cartoon flowers are great for backyard weddings and less formal affairs. To really emphasis that this is a Spring wedding it’s best to use bright colors throughout the invitations.
3. Spring colored damask.
Damask is a very commonly seen pattern. It can be seen in very elegant wedding invitations all the way down to a sweet sixteen birthday party invitation. So in other words it can be very elegant or very casual. To make a damask wedding invitation elegant the design needs to feature bright, neutral, or pastel colors. A white background will work out perfectly. Some great colors for the actual design include, pastel pink, baby blue, and a greyish green. A great idea is to have the damask just border the invitation on the front where the actual wedding invitation text will be written and then have the back of the invitation completely covered in the damask. If you don’t want too much color on the invitation have a neutral color scheme which can include light brown, tan, and grey. Since this is a Spring wedding try to stay away from using any black. Even if you don’t want color, use a dark grey instead of black.
