“The Walking Dad” ended season 4 almost 3 months ago and fans are clamoring for news regarding season 5. The series is back in production with filming underway in Georgia. Still hard facts about what’s in store for Rick and Carl Grimes and the rest of the gang trapped in that boxcar at Terminus are few and far between. Fortunately, the brilliant minds behind the fan forum site Spoil the Dead have put together a speculative timeline based on what little we do know about the current production.
Based on rumors, spoilers and common sense, the speculative timeline for the first 5 episodes looks something like this:
Episode 1: Rick and the others trapped in the boxcar make their escape and deal with the people who imprisoned them at Terminus. According to comments from showrunner Scott Gimple, this will be an action-packed, high intensity episode.
Episode 2: Carol, Tyreese and baby Judith are reunited with the prison survivors and Abraham’s group. A large portion of the group will discover a house that they want because it potentially offers supplies or shelter or both. During the night, Carol and Daryl will chase a car that may either be connected somehow to Terminus or to Beth who is at this point still missing. It is believed that Father Gabriel will make his first appearance in this episode.
Episode 3: For reasons not yet clear, the group will split up. It could be to look for supplies, look for Beth, to evade people tracking the group from Terminus or some combination of these possibilities. Rick, Michonne, Bob, Sasha and Father Gabriel will reportedly be together in one of the groups.
Episode 4: Beth’s abduction is explained. There are no further suppositions available about this episode for the time being.
Episode 5: the website Wetpaint recently reported that episode 5 is currently in filming. Everyone but Tyreese and Judith winds up at the Easy Shop Supermarket. The store is located near the train tracks and the plot line may involve Father Gabriel as there is mention of a “church bus” being used in the episode.
While these theories are just that – theories – they do seem plausible given what we know about the show and its characters. While there have been some past deviations from the storyline in the comic book series the show is based on, overall it has followed along pretty well and this is in keeping with those events.
What do think of this possible timeline? Will things go down like this or do you have a different idea of how season 5 of “The Walking Dead” will unfold?
