From 2005-2009 one of the most talked about shows was Prison Break. Originally the show started off as the story of a man purposefully sending himself to prison to help break his innocent brother out before execution. Eventually it developed into something much larger involving political scandal and surviving life on the run from the law. Since the show ended many of its stars have been nearly invisible. Where have they been?
On Prison Break Wentworth Miller played the enigmatic Michael Scofield who underwent having his entire body tattooed with blue prints of the prison to help with his brother’s escape. As the leading man on the show he should have probably gotten more roles after. Unfortunately for Miller he has not appeared in very many places. In 2013 his first screenplay was turned into the film Stoker starring Nicole Kidman. Miller’s personal life has been a larger topic of discussion. In late 2013 he came out as gay. Hopefully for Miller this means he can start a new chapter in his career.
Actor Dominic Purcell played the wrongfully accused Lincoln Burrows on Prison Break. This was not his first lead role on a television show as he had already been the title character on the short-lived drama John Doe a few years prior. Now a free man from the walls of Fox River Purcell has been in many movies, most of which were direct-to-video.
Sarah Wayne Callies
The main love interest on Prison Break was Dr. Sara Tancredi played by Sarah Wayne Callies. Callies has had one major role since playing the prison doctor as she starred as Lori Grimes on the very popular series The Walking Dead. For reasons you can probably assume based on the show being about a zombie apocalypse, Callies now only appears in a limited role in daydreams. Soon enough she will probably be back on television with a brand new project that becomes a hit.
Lincoln Burrows’s son LJ was played by Marshall Allman. Since the end of Prison Break Allman has made guest appearances on shows like It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, CSI: Miami, Sons of Anarchy, and many more. His longest run as a series regular though was on True Blood where he played shape shifter.
Of all the prisoners to escape from Fox River, Rockmond Dunbar’s character “C-Note” may have been one of the more dignified. Things turned out well for him on the show and actually pretty good in real life too. Two of Dunbar’s bigger roles since the end of Prison Break have been as Sheriff Eli Roosevelt on Sons of Anarchy and now as a star on The Mentalist along with another former Prison Break actress, Robin Tunney.
No list of Prison Break actors and characters would be complete without mentioning Robert Knepper, better remembered by us as T-Bag. Devilishly suave and the last man you would want to babysit your children other than Freddy Krueger, T-Bag made the show all the more frightening at times. Many fans of the show thought Knepper would immediately find success. After Prison Break he has had multiple roles on television. The only long-term role was on the final season of Heroes. Knepper will also play Antonius in the next two The Hunger Games films which are set to release in 2014 and 2015. Prison Break fans may however have enjoyed him the most when he reprised the T-Bag character on an episode of Breakout Kings.
