The GOP is in a bind. Their positions are hateful, but they really don’t want to divulge this information to the public because who would vote for them?
Remember my dear Rascals song “See”? Look at these lyrics: “Things ain’t like they used to be
Love’s the only thing I see
Wings of life are taking flight
From the darkness to the light”.
Don’t they define the love and optimism of the era and which still exist for baby boomers? I’ll tell without them living in that era of the Vietnam era and the uncertain economy words like those were all I had to get by on.
It is the exact opposite with the GOP operatives as the article “I Bet the GOP Will Try Attacking Obamacare at Townhall Meetings Again–In the Summer of 2010 Cranks Strutted Around with Weaponry Intimidating People and Got a Few GOP Votes–so They’ll Do it Again” indicates that there really are no depths that the GOP won’t descend to.
Think about this if you think the above commendation is too severe. After all if people can’t get health coverage the natural result is death.
And all of the countless time the GOP has wasted writing legislation repealing the ACA has solely has been used for propagandizing. The GOP knows that they can’t repeal the ACA and when they try to replace it they return to the same results in the ACA. We will just mention that the ACA is a extreme compromise with the GOP. The ACA is certainly not socialized medicine or single payer.
The article “Losing leverage on Obamacare” describes the GOP admission the US supports the ACA and that we won’t accept it being repealed without a replacement and that replacing the ACA will force the GOP to accept provisions identical to what already exists in the ACA.
The article has a quote from a GOP aide with the above admission and summarizes that this fearful position is a fearful submission to reality running rampant throughout the GOP “Now this is just one aide, but the remarks follow Rep. Paul Ryan’s recent admission that if Obamacare is repealed, its popular provisions would be too costly to replace.”
The GOP fought its guts out to deny President Obama’s ACA. It exposed that they would damage many citizens by denying them health care and that position exposed their less than Christian love for the voters they serve.
This is articulated in another one of Paul Krugman’s superlative article “Health Care Nightmares” which states “there’s an extraordinary ugliness of spirit abroad in today’s America, which health reform has brought out into the open. And that revelation, not reform itself – which is going pretty well – is the real Obamacare nightmare.”
Mr. Krugman is saying that the GOP ugly and unsuccessful fight against legislation that would help the 99%–the ACA, exposes the GOP’s vileness and this exposure of their baseness has therefore become a nightmare for the GOP. As we noted earlier “That there really are no depths that the GOP won’t descend to,” but they don’t want to lose votes due to their hateful plots.
The GOP’s fight against the ACA, against helping the 99% is just the latest example of the GOP’s sordidness. I thought the GOP’s participation in the town hall attacks against Democratic positions-especially the ACA, was repugnant also. I believe that an entity’s past portrays what they will do in the present and future so I wouldn’t put forth any hope that the GOP will progress from this sorry state.
