The Effects of Negative Thinking

We all know that person who is always negative. No matter what happens to them, they find the negative in it. They never seem happy and things never seem to go right for that person. What if I told you that the reason only negative things happened to that person was because they were so negative all of the time?

When we focus on the negative in our lives, we are only drawing more negative to us. It is like we are telling the universe, yes I enjoyed that so much that I focused on it for days, I would like some more please. Then more negative things happen which causes us to focus on the negative and it is a continual cycle that will never end.

Being negative also has great effects on people’s health. Negative people tend to have a higher blood pressure, they tend to be overweight, and they are prone to heart attacks. They are usually inactive people who only want to complain because they are overweight and inactive.

People who are always negative also tend to have a higher rate of mental disorders such as depression and anxiety. Of course you are going to become depressed if you are always focusing on the bad things that happen in your life.

Negative people attract negative people. Have you ever wondered why everyone around you is so negative? It may be time to look at why they want to be around you. Always remember negative attracts negative.

Negative thinking simply wastes time. Why would anyone want to spend their precious time thinking about all the negative things in their lives? Their time would be much better spent if they tried to focus on the more positive things.

You become a target for negativity. You will find that those around you become more and more negative towards you. They will begin to treat you badly if not avoid you all together because no one wants to be around someone who is negative all of the time. This can affect your social life greatly.

When you always focus on the negative you keep your body in a state of “fight or flight”. This will cause stress on your body. Our bodies need rest and when we continually keep it in this stressed state we are causing a ton of harm. This is what causes so many of the health problems that come along with being negative all of the time

Being negative is something we do by choice. You have to realize that you have the choice to be negative or positive. If you are making the choice to be negative all of the time than you are by default making the choice to suffer all of the consequences that come along with it. Don’t lose hope though, it is never too late to begin thinking positively and reversing all of the effects that the negative thinking has had on your body. So stop the negative thinking today and start thinking more positively.
