Store-bought shaving cream for women is not nearly as cheap as men’s products, but with the exception of fragrance, they are all about the same. They contain alcohol and other chemical products, even moisturizing varieties. Homemade products are much better than anything sold in stores. After the initial investment, they are much cheaper too. Consider making homemade shaving cream especially for using on women’s legs. It is by far the best. You will achieve a close shave, and your skin will feel exceptionally silky and smooth.
You will need two-thirds cup of coconut oil, two-thirds cup of refined shea butter and one-half cup of olive oil. Also needed is a large mixing bowl, an electric high-speed mixer, a saucepan, a plastic container for cooling and hardening the mixture, a silicone spatula, and a storage container with a tight-fitting lid for storing the homemade shaving cream. Pint-size canning jars are ideal. Just be sure to label the jars to avoid confusing them with canned foods or other DIY health care and beauty products.
Pour the coconut oil into the saucepan, and add the shea butter. Turn the heat to a low setting, and combine the two while continuously stirring the mixture as it melts. After it turns to liquid, pour it into a plastic container. Place it in the refrigerator, and allow it to completely harden.
After the mixture hardens, pop it out of the plastic container and into a large mixing bowl. Allow it to reach room temperature before doing anything further. After it softens naturally, break it into pieces with the tip of a wooden spoon. Add the olive oil, and use the hand mixer to blend it into the best shaving cream that you will ever try. Scrap it out of the bowl using a silicone spatula and into the storage container(s). Women’s legs feel incredible after using the all-natural homemade mixture.
An Optional Addition
The basic recipe is unscented, but it can be easily transformed into fragrant shaving cream unlike anything available in stores. While whipping the mixture with the electric beaters, add several drops of essential oil in a scent of your choice. After trying it once, you will never go back to using soap or alcohol-based products that dry out the skin.
