Hailing from Finland where heavy/death metal rock rules throughout Scandinavia, Children of Bodom is a five-man band who’s currently on their Halo of Blood Tour. Tampa’s Ritz Ybor on 7th Avenue will open their doors at 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 16th. Tickets are $24
Miley Cyrus – Tampa Bay Times Forum – March 20
This mainstream pop princess, who needs not much of an intro, will be twerking it on her Bangerz Tour. Miley Cyrus will make a stop at the TBT Forum in downtown Tampa on Thursday, March 20th. Doors will open at 7 p.m. Ticket prices range from $19.50, $39.50, $59.50, and $89.50.
Casting Crowns – USF Sundome – March 28
For those wanting a more positive concert experience with a message of hope, this contemporary Christian rock band is just for you. Casting Crowns have sold over 8 million albums and are currently on their Thrive Tour.
They’re performing on Friday, March 28th at the USF Sundome (off Fowler Avenue in North Tampa across from MOSI). Doors open at 7 p.m. Ticket prices start at $25.00, $38.00 and $75.00. The $75 ticket price includes a VIP package consisting of a premium reserved seat, early admission, Q&A session with the artists, and a copy of their new CD.
The Avett Brothers – USF Sundome – March 29
The two brothers, Scott Avett on banjo and Seth Avett on guitar, bring concertgoers their own folk rock sound. They’re currently on tour promoting their album “The Carpenter.” The Avett Brothers will take the stage at USF’s Sundome in North Tampa. Doors open at 8 p.m. Ticket prices are $35.00, $42.50, $47.75.
Mobb Deep – The Crowbar – April 4
Hip Hop’s Mobb Deep will perform at Ybor’s The Crowbar located on 7th Avenue on Friday, April 4th. This rapping duo from Queensbridge, New York presents a bleak and poetic production about street life in New York City. Ticket prices are $18 and $23.
Manchester Orchestra – The Ritz Ybor – April 17
Named after the English city of Manchester for its rich musical heritage of The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Joy Division, Oasis, New Order, and Happy Mondays, Manchester Orchestra is an indie rock band from Atlanta. They’ll perform at The Ritz Ybor (7th Avenue) near downtown Tampa. The concert date is Thursday, April 17th with tickets priced at $17 and $20.
Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer Band – MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater – April 19
On Saturday, April 19th classic rock’s own, and adopted Florida son, Jimmy Buffet, along with his Coral Reefer Band, will have the outdoor venue at the Florida State Fairgrounds partying Key West style. Parrot heads (diehard Buffet fans) will rejoice once again at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater opening up at 8 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Live Nation.
98 Rock Fest – Tampa Bay Times Forum – April 25
Tampa Bay’s 98 Rock radio station brings their annual music festival featuring 13 bands of current and new acts. They comprise of Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat, Chevelle, Black Stone Cherry, Saigon Kick, The Pretty Reckless, Trivium, Lacuma Coil, Fozzy, We As Human, Werm, Nothing More, and Skratch N Sniff.
The Rock Fest takes place at downtown’s Tampa Bay Times Forum (Tampa) on Friday, April 25. Currently ticket prices for general admission are $49, P1 Plaza/Club $49, P2 Plaza/Club $39, Terrace (3rd level) $29, and 4 Pack $19. After March 19th ticket prices go up $10 more.
