Swimwear with a Sense of Class and a Style of Its Own

by yak max

One of the most difficult decisions of the summer has to be choosing the right swimsuit that meets all your needs while still giving you that flattering figure that you truly deserve. From the bikini to the tankini, from the one-piece cutout to the bandeau two-piece, the diversity in swimwear will take you by surprise. Not only does swimwear come in a variety of shapes, colors and sizes, but there are quite possibly more swimwear designers than you are even aware of. Swimwear has come so far with coordinating cover-ups and caftans, accessories that can be mixed and matched and resort wear that is in a class of its own.

As Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim gets ready to celebrate their 10th anniversary in July in Miami Beach, we celebrate the many faces of fashion that a sizzling summer offers to all the stylish outdoor enthusiasts.

Two swimwear brands that have an international appeal and stateside success in the fashion industry are Poko Pano and L*Space by Monica Wise. Each is individualistic in presentation and design and most notably continues to identify with their loyal customer season after season.

Paola Robba began small in Brazil but with the drive and desire that comes with pursuing your passion, she launched Poko Pano and brought it to amazing heights. Now the brand is worn in Portugal, Japan, Spain, Mexico, the United States, Australia, Chile, Hawaii, South Africa and the word of its exceptional quality and beauty is spreading all across the universe. Robba’s inspiration for her sexy silhouettes in vibrant colors and tropical prints is none other than her home in Brazil. Each of the Poko Pano collections is designed around a theme and Summer 2015 is the merriment of Rio de Carnival meets Miami. As the FIFA World Cup is being played now in Robba’s nation, she tells us, “I wanted to translate the joy and pride that one feels to be Brazilian, especially with the many history-making activities taking place in our backyard. By capturing that passion, we will be sure to leave a memorable mark in the hearts of onlookers.” The 2015 swim collection will be filled with energy, pizzazz and spirit which exemplifies all that Brazil is famous for from the beauty of nature to its ripe history to the intriguing culture. Prints of fruits, amulets and flowers are going to be playing a major role. Poko Pano has plenty of signature one-piece suits and bikinis in store for us. Branching out far beyond swimwear, the brand will now accessorize your entire wardrobe with skirts, pants, kaftans and best of all, handmade coordinating beach bags to compliment your chosen swimsuit. Celebrities are looking tropically tantalizing in Poko Pano from Kim Kardashian to Beyonce to Jessica Simpson. This year marks the eighth year that Poko Pano will debut the newest showcase of swimwear fashion at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim to an exclusive crowd.

Eager to join the swimsuit with the enticing ocean, Monica Wise gives her loyal customers effortless yet chic style to fit every personality. Through her brand, L*Space , Wise represents the adventurous woman, jet-setting across the world, enjoying exploration and living life to its fullest. Partial to Florida, having been a resident for some time, and now living in California, Wise is continuously inspired by her lifetime love affair with beachfront scenes from Florida and the southern California coastline of Corona del Mar. L*Space Swim & Resort Wear portray that fashion forward attitude and ride the cusp of surfer-chic. This season, L*Space by Monica Wise debuts Resort & Spring 2015 with the theme ‘The Water Is Waiting’ and the prominence of this theme goes from the deconstructed runway to the styling of the models adding accessories reminiscent of marine life to scale-like tattoos that are custom made by Flash Tatoos, emulating a mermaid emerging from the water. With this season comes new and exciting transitional pieces that can easily be incorporated into a woman’s wardrobe to make it elegantly complete. Mix and match bralettes, bandeaus, halters and racer backs with itsy bitsy, hipster or full coverage bottoms. For those that are more comfortable in one-piece suits, Wise has you covered with a more modern, contemporary look displaying sexy cutouts and a figure-flattering blouson bandeau style. Easily transform the look from the beach to the street in tunics, caftans, maxi dresses, rompers, sweater knits, pants and shorts. Feminine and flirtatious fabrics include lace, rayon, crochet, linen and spandex. What differentiates the L*Space by Monica Wise brand is its attention to distinct detail coordinated into the suits from gold hardware to fringe. The sun will be shining down on tribal prints and colors of the rainbow in watercolor shades of green, blue, purple, hello and pink. Put it all together and you have an internationally desired brand called L*Space by Monica Wise worn by gorgeous stars such as Kate Hudson, Victoria Beckham, Rihanna and Gwen Stefani to name just a few.

These are two of many designers that have a creative knack for designing swimwear that makes a statement poolside or as the waves crash along the shoreline. They are two of my favorites because they drape you in luxury and flirtatious femininity all summer long. Looks like the summer will be bringing some sizzling temperatures to our nation so why not enhance your wardrobe with some seductive and omniscient swimwear?
