Summer has officially arrived and it looks to be a great one. The weather is nice and the people are lively. This is not a time to be spent inside; we had all of winter to sit inside. Now is the time to get out and have some fun. There are many places to go and activities to do. What are you waiting for?
So what’s there to do? Here are a few things to get you started:
- · Beaches
- · Amusement Parks
- · Carnivals
- · Road Trips
- · International Traveling
- · Shopping
- · Parties
- · Family Reunions
- · Picnics
- · Fireworks
- · And much more
I would consider myself a child of summer. My birthday is in May which means I’ve always been used to summer fun. Now above are a few summer activities that I’ve embarked on. Each one I can tell great stories about. Summer is about creating memories and having fun with the people around you. Kids are out of school and parents are trying to keep them occupied at the same time. It doesn’t have to be hard but it always needs to be fun.
Whether you can swim or not, hit up a beach. Hopefully the water is safe to get in because most beaches will definitely close if the water isn’t right. Even if you’re not swimming, have fun in the sand. Build castles or play volleyball. Catch a tan but don’t forget the sunscreen. Have a picnic on the beach. Most beaches have a dining area or if you’re like me, chow down on the nice sand. Beaches are meant to be enjoyed in the summer. Don’t skip this opportunity.
As a kid, I loved going to amusement parks and carnivals in the summer. The games, rides and food were the best. There’s always something to do at these places. I personally like playing games to win prizes. Nothing says victory like a giant stuffed animal. My friends and family like going on rides. A good roller coaster is all I needed. Yet, the different foods were my favorite part. They have everything from fried doughnuts to fried Oreos. It may not be best to eat all year around but it’s definitely great in the summer. I suggest everyone find a great carnival or amusement park to enjoy this summer.
After all the other summer activities, you have to end summer with a fireworks display. It’s truly the only way to say goodbye to summer. The 4TH of July firework displays are epic but there’s something grand about the end of summer ones. Maybe it’s because school will start soon and you’re saying goodbye to people, but these fireworks seem to shine brighter. If you you’re watching them with your family or friends or that special someone, it’s a memory that will last until next summer. There’s nothing like a great lights show.
However you spend your summer, do it with a smile. Enjoy every moment. Summer isn’t as long as it seems. I suggest you take each day and do something spectacular. Make new and lasting memories. Try things you never have and go places you’re never been. Enjoy summer your way.
