Summertime is right around the corner and if you’re tired of the same old dinner and a movie date, these options might be just what you’re looking for. Depending on what you and your significant other enjoy, here are some creative date ideas that are perfect for summer.
Are you and your significant other active? Do you enjoy playing sports like tennis, basketball or football? Playing sports together can be a great way to not only exercise, but to also to bond. Not to mention that playing sports can be great for a group date. Get some friends together and challenge each other to couple’s tennis or perhaps two on two basketball.
Plan a date for a cookout. You and your significant other could even plan the event together, inviting all of your friends and having a nice time in the outdoors. Cookouts are a great way to bond and if done right, they can be a really good time for both of you and your guests.
Picnics can be a great, inexpensive way to spend time together outside. Pack up some of your favorite foods and find a park or a remote location to sit together and eat. Enjoying some time alone with good food and a view can be a great date idea.
Carnivals aren’t just for kids and, in the summertime, there are usually an abundance of carnivals to pick from. Win your date a stuffed animal or spend some time riding rides and enjoy being out with just the two of you. Carnivals are a great, cheap date idea perfect for the nice summer weather.
Find a local bike trail, round up a couple of bikes and hit the trails together. This a great way to exercise while also having a blast outside. Search for trails in your area and plan a day for the two of you to go biking. It’s one of the cheapest, funnest dates you can enjoy in the summer.
In addition to biking trails, there are just as many hiking trails. Check out local parks that offer trails, grab some food and some water and go on a nice hike. Hikes can be especially romantic and can really get you in touch with nature.
Are the two of you animal lovers? If so, a date to the zoo may be perfect. Not only do you get to see tons of adorable animals, but zoos offer great opportunities to take photos. Plan a day for the two of you to visit the zoo and have a great time together observing animals and taking pictures that will last a lifetime.
This is one of my personal favorites for cheap, summer dates. Wait for a clear night, grab a blanket and find an open field. Lay on your backs and talk while you watch stars. This can be extra special if the two of you spot a shooting star.
