Every single chapter in season 2 of Marvel: Avengers Alliance has had exactly two epic boss battles. Besides potentially dropping good items and ISOs, these battles are required to get 100% mastery of the chapter. Chapter 5 is no exception to this rule. Like in the previous chapters, one of the epic boss battles is part of the premium mission while the other is part of an earlier mission. The following guide will help you navigate the epic boss battles in season 2 chapter 5 of Marvel: Avengers Alliance.
Mission 5 – Enchantress – Required: Thor – Deploy: Fandral / Vision / Quicksilver – Recommended: Daredevil – Daredevil is the recommended second hero, but any scrapper with a stealthy attack will suffice. Enchantress will seduce one of your heroes each round. When she does, that hero can’t attack her and other heroes can’t attack her with non-stealthy attacks. Unless she seduces your scrapper, this is easy. Assuming you are using Daredevil, just hit her with Billy Club and follow up with Manrikigusari once she is fully debuffed. Thor and your agent can work on the other two enemies. The biggest challenge in this fight is that the enemies put a lot of ongoing damage on your team. To counter this, you either need a full stock of items that can remove status effects or you need to equip your agent with a couple scrolls. The former is the safer choice. Eventually only Enchantress will remain in the battle. Be very careful not to attack her with a non-stealthy attack when one of your team is seduced. Since Thor doesn’t have any stealthy attacks, this means he might need to recharge or use an item.
Mission 6 – Man-Ape – Required: Hercules – Recommended: Havok – Havok is recommended in this battle for the reason he is usually recommended in battles. He is a blaster who can apply exhausted. This is important because Man-Ape is a bruiser, but the wave before him has two tacticians. This is a three wave battle, which means you have time to build up Hercules before facing Man-Ape. This is important because Man-Ape grows in power the longer you take to defeat him. Spend the first two waves getting Blessing of Olympus on Hercules and then don’t let it fall off. Use items if necessary and have Hercules attack the scrapper in wave 2 to get enraged. Havok should be able to hold his own against the tacticians in the second wave and keep the blasters in the first wave from hurting Hercules too badly with Plasma Spheres. When the last wave begins, don’t hold back. A fully buffed Hercules should be able to deal massive damage with Pankration Pummel and Havok can unleash Channel Energy followed by Plasma Wave. Your agent may have nothing better to do than to twiddle his thumbs if you set yourself up right before this wave.
