Boss battles are valuable in the Facebook game Marvel: Avengers Alliance, because they can potentially drop command points and top tier agent gear. In some ways, you actually begin to get a break from the pain of boss battles in chapter 6. Most of the battles here have good team ups that actually help. Unfortunately, the optimal second hero is generally more expensive than in previous chapters. The following guide will help you navigate the boss battles in season 1 chapter 6 of Marvel: Avengers Alliance.
Mission 1 – Madame Masque / Boomerang – Required: Invisible Woman – Recommended: Wolverine – Wolverine really makes this fight a lot easier. Savage Rend removes the bodyguard abilities of the scrapper thug in the second wave, allowing your agent to ignore him. Wolverine has a good chance to guard attacks early in the fight and is resistant against bleeding and poison. Of the two villains, Masque is a little more dangerous because she can apply burning. Focus on her with your agent and Invisible Woman. Once she is gone, switch to Boomerang. You will probably want a little healing or status effect removal, but otherwise the battle isn’t too hard.
Mission 2 – Toad / Sabretooth – Required: Cyclops – Recommended: Ares – Toad’s biggest threat is his counterattacks, which Cyclops can remove with Exploit Weakness. Sabretooth has regeneration, which Ares can remove with despair. Equip your agent as a scrapper and this battle is really easy. If you don’t have despair available, equip your agent as a bruiser and really pound Sabretooth from the start. He is dangerous in a prolonged fight. The only job of Cyclops in this battle, besides using Evasive Maneuvers, is to neuter Toad until he is dead.
Mission 3 – Crimson Cowl / Crimson Dynamo – Required: Spider-Woman – Recommended: Daredevil – Crimson Cowl appears in all three waves of this battle. It is better to have two scrappers than one and Daredevil’s immunity to blinding makes him the obvious choice. Equip your agent as a blaster to make the second wave a lot easier. This battle is simple. Focus fire on Crimson Cowl until she flees and then heal up while mopping up the remaining minions. Crimson Dynamo can deal a lot of damage, but doesn’t have any particularly dangerous tricks. Save him for last.
Mission 3 Epic – Doctor Octopus – Required: Spider-Woman – Recommended: Black Widow – The biggest danger in this battle is Doc Ock’s Isotope Injection power. It will put a debuff on the target that morphs into a whole parcel of debuffs over time, but can also be passed to another target by attacking. In order to not get hurt by this, you need to perform a quick action and then attack. That will pass the debuff such that the enemy will be affected instead of passing it back. Any character with a constantly available quick action is a good choice. Spider-Woman doesn’t have one, so you will have to use a debuff removing item on her turn if she is affected. Take out the Doc’s minions first, in order to remove his second biggest weapon and then deal with him. The battle is on the longer side, but not impossibly hard.
Mission 4 – Mystique / M-Series Tau Mk III – Required: Storm – Recommended: Magik – Mystique is the priority target here because she can regenerate and gain extra actions. Unfortunately, she is resistant against both gun and slashing attacks, making it hard to deal effective damage against her with most scrappers. Magik and Iron Fist both get around that as can your agent if you equip well. Ignore the sentinel and take her out as fast as possible. Storm should probably use Protective Shroud to start the boss battle, but that is the only defensive action worth taking unless the battle goes south. You just need to out power Mystique unless you severely outmatch her in level.
Mission 5 – Elektra / Jack O’ Lantern / Bullseye – Required: Iron Fist – Recommended: Wonder Man – Elektra applies internal bleeding whenever she attacks. This can’t be removed or prevented except by hero special abilities. If you happen to own the Fist of Colossus, which makes your agent immune to bleeding, use it. If not, bring a bleed resistant or immune hero and equip your agent with area weapons or stealthy weapons, which Elektra won’t counter. Iron Fist is better off attacking one of the other villains. Jack O’ Lantern is the biggest danger of the two other villains because of his rapid psychosis. Iron Fist can remove that debuff from himself with Healing Chi, but you will need to recharge with other heroes. Take out Elektra and Jack as fast as possible and then worry about Bullseye. He will get a lot of critical hits, but isn’t otherwise a problem.
Mission 6 – Juggernaut / Avalanche / Constrictor – Required: Phoenix – Recommended: Hulk – Avalanche will use ground attacks and exploit flying with his one non-ground attack and Constrictor will stun a lot. There isn’t much you can do about Constrictor unless you have a Relentless E-ISO on your main tank. You will have a tank in this battle because of Mind Link, which is good, because otherwise Phoenix is way too susceptible to both Avalanche and Constrictor. Build up enraged and hulk up stacks over the first wave with Hulk and then unleash his most powerful attack on Constrictor to start the battle. The sooner you get rid of him and his stuns, the better. Save your stuns for after Juggernaut builds up a little steam. That will reset him. It isn’t a sure thing battle, but with Avalanche boosting Hulk, or whatever bruiser you bring, you should win handily.
