Are you sick feeling like you have nothing to wear even though you have a closet full of clothes? Chances are it’s because you have done some growing up, but your wardrobe has yet to do the same. Now that you are left with nothing but crop-tops and sequin dresses, it is now time to upgrade your wardrobe with the following steps to take you into your fabulous, 30s.
STEP ONE – Check Your Inventory:
Go through every single item in your closet. This will allow you too see how much that you have been unnecessarily holding onto. It may be scary to realize how much hoarding you have been doing but it will scare you into getting rid of old things which must be done.
STEP TWO – Toss Things Out:
It is now time to begin getting rid of everything that you no longer wear. Donate it or give to a friend, just make sure your closet has plenty of room for age-appropriate items. Attempt to say goodbye to as many things as possible – Out with the old, in with the new!
STEP THREE – Moving On:
Let’s face it, it is hard for most women to get rid of clothing. Talk a walk down memory lane and reminiscence on the various pieces of clothing that you have tossed out. When complete, give yourself a pat on the bag for being one step closer to a grow-up wardrobe.
STEP FOUR – Figure Out Your Style:
It is almost time to go shopping, but first you need to define your style. Do you want to be elegant and fancy or modest and classy? Or perhaps you want to be more athletic chic? Whatever the case may be, knowing your fashion taste will make shopping much easier.
STEP FIVE – Start With The Basics:
Now that it is time to shop, it is best to build your wardrobe by starting with the basics. Pick up some nice tops, a cool blazer, some flattering jeans and some summer shorts. Establish a clean wardrobe palette and have some fun with it later.
STEP SIX – Add Some Flair:
Now that you have the basics covered, it is now time to liven up your wardrobe with some “sizzle” pieces. Treat yourself to a sexy body-con skirt for girl’s night out and a bold statement necklace to complete your outfits with!
Once these six steps are complete, take a look at your closet and look at all of the progress that you have made! Parting with old clothes may not be easy, but your grown-up wardrobe will leave you feeling more confident than you ever have.
