Silk or plastic leaves, vines, and such
Since camouflage garments don’t seem to be going away you might as well jump in there and enjoy wearing them, too. Of course, quality camouflage is going to cost a good bit of money so prepare yourself for spending plenty on pants, shirts, jackets, and hats. That is, unless you decide to stamp your own camouflage. You won’t need expensive rubber stamps to make the clothing. Plus, stamping your own camouflage can save you a lot of money.
I don’t know if camouflage garments are necessarily fashionable but millions of people love wearing the green, tan, black, brown, and/or gray clothes. There are lots of different camouflage designs so you don’t have to worry that homemade camouflage clothing will stand out in a bad way. Instead, you can create cool camouflage designs by using an unusual technique, much like rubber stamping. But for your camouflage, you’ll use plastic or silk leaves, plants, and vines, to create the look that will have others begging for info on where to buy them.
Start out with a pair of pants, a shirt, or another garment, which is comfortable to you. Keep in mind that many camouflage garments have a particular look. Great choices include cargo pants and tee shirts. You’ll help yourself considerably – with the camouflage design – if you choose a garment that is already tan, green, or brown.
Plastic or silk plants, leaves, stalks, and such, make fabulous camouflage designs. Do layers so that you’ll blend the various elements together nicely. Start out by deciding on a color, such as brown, tan, green, black, rust, or another camouflage color. Put some fabric paint on a paper plate and lay the chosen leaf or other plant piece in it. Pick the leaf or piece up, lay it on a paper towel, and press. Now, pick the plant piece up, lay it on the pants or other garment, and press to create the image.
Use assorted leaves and such so that you create several layers of different designs. It’s not necessary to completely cover the garment; feel free, though, to stamp one design partially on another.
When you make your own camouflage, you can get very creative, using pink leaves on a black garment, or other non-traditional looks. You can purchase inexpensive leaves and things to use as rubber stamps by visiting a dollar-theme store, or your nearest craft store. It can be helpful to look at pictures of camouflage before choosing the stamps that you’ll use.
