I am a foodie and I have no problem admitting that. I like to feed my family and friends with new dishes however, I make sure that I am not the reason for their increased waist line. I personally like to stay fit and tell people, eat as much as you want but do the physical activities as well to burn the calories.
So, today in my first post as a yahoo contributor I will talk about 5 healthy snacks which has less than 90 calories. You can eat them anytime of the day. They are delicious to eat, easy to make and quick to burn. So note down these easy snacks-
- Avocado Delight Recipe
Ingredients– Avocados, onions, tomatoes and green chilies
Method– chop the avocados, onions, tomatoes and green chilies. Now blend the avocados in the blender for about 30 seconds. Make sure that you don’t make a puree out of them. Now add finally chopped tomatoes, onion and green chilies. I like to serve them on the peeled half of the avocados. You can serve them anyway you like.
Tip– squeeze the lemon if you like tangy snacks.
Calories– 76 per serving
- Salt & Pepper Shrimp Recipe
Ingredients– large shrimps, salt, pepper, lemon juice, green chilies
Method– clean the shrimps and remove their head. Steam them for about 5 minutes. Rinse the hot water and put them in cold water for about 2 minutes. Now take a bowl, put the dried steamed shrimps and toss them with some lemon juice, green chilies, salt and pepper and you are good to go!
Tip– if you like the flavour of basil, you can put some chopped basil on top of the dish.

- Smoked Salmon Bagel Chips Recipe
Ingredients– smoked salmon, 1 tsp of low fat crème cheese, bagel chips
Method– it’s one of the easiest recipe you can even make for the party. All you have to do is to place the bagel chip on the tray, top it up with 2 thin slices of salmon and a drop of low fat crème cheese. If you want, you can also place another bagel chip on top of. It will give a look of a sandwich.
Calories– 63 per serving
- Feta Cheese Cherry Tomatoes Recipe
Ingredients– 10 cherry tomatoes, 20 gram feta cheese, basil leaves, salt, pepper, vinegar
Method– cut cherry tomatoes in half. Also cut feta cheese in small cubes. Now in a bowl mix cherry tomatoes with feta cheese, salt, basil leaves, pepper and vinegar. That’s all. It’s a delicious mid-day snack.
Tip– you can also replace vinegar with lemon juice.
Calories– 57 per serving
- Grilled Asparagus with Parmesan Cheese Recipe
Ingredients– Asparagus, 1 tsp olive oil, grated parmesan cheese, pepper
Method– clean the asparagus and grill them for about 5 minutes on the medium high heat. Place these grilled asparagus on the plate and drizzle one table spoon of olive oil with some pepper. Toss them well. Finally before serving, decorate the plate with some grated Parmesan cheese.
Tip– you can also serve this with hollandaise sauce but that will increase the calorie count
