Skylanders: Swap Force has been a runaway success that attracts gamers from multiple genres to the world of Skylands. What started as a mere adventure for Spyro and company has become a phenomenon like no one could have predicted. Whether you’re gaming on the go with Nintendo 3DS or enjoying some co-op at home on the Nintendo Wii U, Playstation 4, or Xbox One- it’s an experience that’s not to be missed. If you’re trying to make some decisions on who to invest in, then this is your big chance!
Now gamers have to make some tough decisions on just who is worth buying. You can pick up a Skylander for between $10-$12 and the starter packs are bundled with three already. Which figures are worth your cash? If you find yourself unsure of who to invest in, look no further. This time we’ll be taking a look at an Undead Skylander. Should you have your eye on Eye-Brawl?
Many gamers have found the eponymous giants of Skylanders to be a mixed bag. Put bluntly, only half of them are successes. Sadly the majority of them boil down to being super-sized versions of preexisting champions. Fortunately, Eye-Brawl comes in ahead of the pack as easily one of the most unique and likeable of the newcomers.
Eye-Brawl has a very original gameplay style that mixes summoning skills and air support. This champion has the ability to detach his massive eyeball and control it as a beam-firing weapon. You can easily control this second entity as it flies around the battlefield picking off enemies with ease. Need to clear a path through a mob or distract a tough boss? Eye-Brawl more than has you covered.
Like his moveset, Eye-Brawl’s figure is equal parts unique and impressive. The eye lights up spectacularly and his armor looks awesome. You’ll be proud to have Eye-Brawl posted on a shelf or next to your Wii U. Eye-Brawl thankfully manages to be one of the few giants that plays excellently both on home consoles and on the 3DS. Eye-Brawl might traverse levels at the same leisurely pace as his huge companions, but his flying eye gives him a much needed agility boost.
If you could invest in only one giant for your Skylanders experience, I would most definitely give the nod to Eye-Brawl. At close range he batters enemies with his melee combos while at a distance he summons eyeball minions to do his dirty work. He works particularly well with ranged fighters- the likes of Hot Dog, Dino-Rang, and Hex. Both his upgrade paths are respectable, but Eye For An Eye shines. The Safari Hat looks strangely appropriate on the big pulsing eye.
