Should Businesses Use Surveys in Their Current Marketing Strategies

by yak max

You have a business, a business website and things have been going okay. You would like to see them do better than okay, so you are looking into other options.

You have come to the right place. Over the past 14 years, I have used various forms of online marketing for my business and one of the most effective methods I have used has been surveys. Here we are going to discuss different things you can be doing to help increase revenue for your business but I am going to focus on surveys and why surveys should be a big part of your content strategy.

Google Surveys

Google Surveys is a terrific way to find out more of what you need to know for your business to succeed as well as bringing more attention, traffic and feedback which can ultimately translate into revenue. Google surveys have several different options for surveys from free to business professional packages for all budgets. With surveys by Google, you can pick your target audience, get answers to your survey questions in real time and find out what you need to know quickly to expedite change if change is necessary. The interaction with survey takers can bring attention to your business or product and encourage further interaction. It is advertising without actually advertising.

Why should marketers use surveys?

Surveys help to initiate dialog and feedback with customers. The difference between surveys of today and surveys of ten years ago is that today’s surveys are smarter and can be targeted directly to the consumer it was meant to attract.

Smart Surveys

Okay, so they don’t actually call them Smart Surveys but just like the flip phones made way for the smart phones, the surveys of today give the marketer so much more information than they did ten years ago. Today’s surveys offer analytics. Analytics give us all the information we need to know but more specifically for marketing specialists, it can help in the crucial areas of:

  • Concept & Product Development.
  • Brand Tracking.
  • Marketing Design.
  • Campaign Management.
  • Real time questions and answers.

Specific Marketing Goals

Let’s take a minute to look at some specific marketing goals. We mentioned concept and product development above.

Concept and product development: Depending on what you are trying to market, finding out if this product or item is liked better in a certain color or with other characteristics that might be more pleasing to the consumer, this information would be so helpful before thousands or hundreds of thousands of dollars went into manufacturing a product that would have done better had it been done differently. A survey asking specific questions about colors or characteristics on a product or item and those results could determine failure or success before it happens.

Brand tracking: Brand tracking in analytics is wonderful because it enables you to see how people perceive your brand or product. Brand tracking also enables you to measure the impact of buzz your product is generating as well as giving you an idea of what kind of awareness your brand is attracting. You can also find out if people have bought or intend on buying your product or service through brand tracking.

Marketing Design: With marketing design, you can actually get the consumer or customers to help you design the best possible ads or promos for your product or service. Just think for a minute how great that really is and what an advantage that can give you in the market place?

Campaign Measurement: With campaign measurement, you can do the following obvious task; you can measure the success of your current campaign. Also, with campaign measurement, you can understand campaign reaction and reception. Going even further into the analytics, you can see how different regions and demographics inside your targeted areas are reacting as well.

Timely Questions Answered: With today’s surveys you can get these timely questions answered without giving up quality. What this means is that if something is happening in the world that could affect your product use or purchase of your services or products, it can give you a heads-up on how to resolve an issue before it becomes an issue.

Different companies offering surveys for business like Google Surveys or Survey Monkey both offer great tools to help you understand what the consumer is looking for and can help you increase revenue to your business. As we all know, knowledge is power. Why not know all you can know about what is going to work best for your business? It will save you time, money, work and stress. The upside is that you should see positive results quickly.
