When my skin needs pampering and my mind needs calming I use my homemade rose petal exfoliating body wash. It is super easy to create and is luxurious to use on the body. The wash literally feels like an expensive spa treatment you would have at a spa retreat center.
Natural Ingredients Needed
The natural ingredients I love to use to make my heavenly skin cleanser are three cups of sugar for exfoliating dead skin cells, one cup of grape seed oil for hydrating and softening the skin and ten to fifteen drops of rose absolute oil. I like to use around fifteen because I like my homemade product to have a strong heavenly relaxing rose scent because after all the rose oil is what calms the mind and the skin. You are also going to need a cup of dried rose petals of any color. I like to use red or pink and sometimes a combination of both. I also add in rose scented liquid castile soap. This is necessary to cleanse and help the wash lather up on the body with ease. I personally like to use the Dr. Bonner’s Magic Pure Castile Liquid Soap because it has a lovely floral scent that goes will with all the other ingredients in this skin care pampering remedy.
Creating the Beauty Treatment
The materials you will need to create your skin care product are a spatula and a food processor or blender. You will also want a clean wide mouth glass jar. Once you have these materials you can begin making the cleanser by adding all the natural ingredients into the food processor. Next, grind and mix the ingredients together on high speed for about thirty to sixty seconds until you get a gritty oily mixture with rose petal bits throughout. After, scrape the treatment into the jars using a spatula. Next, you will want to seal your jar sup and store them near your shower or bathtub for easy use when you are ready to calm the mind and pamper the skin and body.
Beautifying the Body and Relaxing the Mind
My favorite way to use this handmade spa remedy is by first getting into a hot bath made with rose oil and soaking my skin and body down for about thirty-minutes to help moisten and soften up the dead skin so it is easier to exfoliate. Then, I take small handfuls of the rose wash and massage it into my body and skin from head to toe using small circular motions to help lather up and scrub the skin clean from dead skin cells, dirt and impurities. I also take my time and take deep breathes in so I can enjoy the heavenly calming rose fragrance coming from the product so I can calm my mind. Once I am clean, I rinse down with warm water, pat my skin dry with a warm cotton towel and massage rose body oil into my skin to help soften and pamper up my skin an even more.
Benefits of Using this Treatment
Using this treatment once a week can help keep skin soft, supple and glowing with youthfulness. Rose oil actually contains anti-aging properties in it that helps keep the skin looking fresh and ageless for as long as possible. It also helps soothe redness away and tones up the skin well too. However, over using this product can actually irritate the skin because over exfoliating is bad for the skin. I find that using this skin pampering remedy once a week is plenty and does wonders for keeping my skin looking and feeling just right.
Those of you allergic to roses or any other ingredients in this beauty treatment should not use it to cleanse and exfoliating your skin naturally. Otherwise, I can say I have used this without any allergic reactions or any other possible side effect. All I have after using it is younger healthier looking and feeling skin.
