Multi-award winning guitarist Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators will bring his rock ‘n’ roll hits to Hard Rock Live at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino August 29, 2014.
Best known as the former lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses, Slash achieved worldwide success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. But his notoriety as one of the best axe men didn’t stop there. He later formed Slash’s Snakepit and co-founded the rock band Velvet Revolver (with former GNR band mates Duff McKagan, Matt Sorum, and vocalist Scott Weiland from the Stone Temple Pilots). Velvet Revolver re-established him as a mainstream performer in the mid to late 2000s and gained him a whole new audience.
His most recent project, “Apocalyptic Love,” is collaboration with singer and guitarist Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, composed of bassist Todd Kerns, drummer Brent Fitz, and touring member Frank Sidoris on guitar. Album singles include “You’re a Lie,” “Standing in the Sun,” “No More Heroes,” “Bad Rain,” and the ballad, “Not for Me.” Slash and Kennedy first joined musical forces on Slash’s 2010 debut solo release, “Slash,” where the Alter Bridge front man lent his vocals to the project along with such legendary guest vocalists Iggy Pop, Ian Astbury and Ozzy Osbourne.
Globally Guns N’ Roses has sold more than 100 million albums making them one of the most popular and influential rock bands of the 1980’s. Slash returned to Slash’s Snakepit in 1994, and followed with Velvet Revolver’s two hit LPs, 2005’s Contraband (for which the single “Slither” won a Grammy for Best Hard Rock performance) and 2007’s Libertad. Slash released his groundbreaking, guest-star studded solo debut in 2010. In 2011, Slash was honored as an official selection to receive a star in 2012 on Hollywood’s iconic Walk of Fame.
Time Magazine named Slash runner-up on their list of “The 10 Best Electric Guitar Players” in 2009, while Rolling Stone placed him at #65 on their list of “The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” in 2011. Guitar World ranked his solo in November Rain #6 on their list of “The 100 Greatest Guitar Solos” in 2008, and Total Guitar placed his riff in Sweet Child o’ Mine at #1 on their list of “The 100 Greatest Riffs” in 2004. In 2012, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. If you’re a rock fan this is one show you’re not going to want to miss. For more information please check out the following site:
