Product Description: Pork patties with Swiss cheese and mushrooms. I purchased a box of 6 at one of my local grocery stores for $8.99.
Review: I decided to grill out a couple nights ago but, since it had been storming on and off all day, didn’t take anything out of my freezer. As a result, I ended up stopping off at the store on my way home from work so I didn’t have to worry about thawing something in the microwave. I wasn’t able to find any decent deals on meat so, since they weren’t going to be much more expensive anyway; I decided to give the Johnsonville Swiss & Mushroom Flavored Grillers a try. And, as it turned out, they weren’t too bad.
When I first purchased these, I was curious whether or not they would be any different from Johnsonville’s regular bratwurst patties. While there were some similarities, I do think these were definitely better.
First, I loved having the mushrooms and Swiss cheese mixed into them. I wasn’t sure how that would taste at first, but it was actually very much like having a regular mushroom and Swiss burger. The only difference was this one was made out of pork rather than ground beef.
Another thing I found I liked about this product was the thickness. There were two main reasons for that. The first one was, unlike some other patties I’ve purchased in the past, I didn’t have to worry about them falling through the grates of my grill. Since these were somewhat expensive, I would have been upset if I would have lost one that way.
The thicker patties also proved to be very filling. My wife and I were each only able to eat one and, since my picky kids didn’t want to try them, we were able to save the other four and had two lunches as a result. This made the $8.99 price a bit more palatable.
Final Opinion: The price, admittedly, was a bit on the high side for me. However, they proved to be worth the money and I would definitely recommend trying them, especially if you can find them on sale.
