Product Description: Individually packaged cinnamon rolls from the Baker’s Treat brand. My wife bought a box of these at Aldi earlier this week.
Review: My wife made the mistake of shopping on an empty stomach when she went to Aldi to pick up some groceries earlier this week and, as a result of that, ended up buying almost as many sweets as she did actual food. This includes the Big Texas Cinnamon Rolls.
Even though I wasn’t really sure about this particular purchase (I’m just not as big of a fan of sweets as I used to be), I decided to take one of the cinnamon rolls with me to work as an afternoon snack. After trying it, I do have to admit it was better than expected. But, I’m still undecided about it being worth the money.
There were a couple things I did like about this product. The first was the size. The cinnamon rolls are pretty large and, because of that, are much more filling than expected. I ate mine around 1 p.m. and it kept me full until I got home later that evening.
Another thing I liked about the Big Texas Cinnamon Rolls was the taste. As I said before, I’m not that big of a fan of sweets anymore and, when I took this with me to work, I was afraid it would end up being too sweet. As it turns out, it wasn’t as strong as I was expecting it to be. There was definitely a sweet flavor. But, it wasn’t anything that was overpowering or, as has been the case in the past, made me feel sick to my stomach.
My main complaint about this product is the cinnamon roll did seem to be a bit on the stale side. It was edible and I really wasn’t expecting it to seem like it was fresh out of the oven. It just didn’t seem as fresh as other pre-packaged pastries. Of course, to be fair, I didn’t warm it up in the microwave. That might have made a difference.
Final Opinion: It’s probably not something I would personally purchase. However, it was better than expected and, if you like this kind of product, this is a brand that is worth considering.
