There is a great debate going on right now about whether or not non-renewable energy is better than renewable energy. Non-renewable energy has been being used for many generations, but is being depleted at an alarming rate. Renewable energy has only been taken seriously for a relative short period of time – What is better?
Renewable Energy
Renewable energy sources can be replenished in a short period of time after being used. Renewable energy is consumed when used, but there is plenty more of that type of energy being made to replace what has been consumed. There are quite a few different types of renewable energy in use today. The top types of renewable energy in use today are:
- Wind Energy
- Solar Energy
- Bio-mass Energy
- Bio-gas Energy
- Geothermal Energy
- Hydropower Energy
Non-Renewable Energy
Non-renewable energy sources can’t be replenished in a short period of time after being used. Once the non-renewable energy is consumed, there is no more of that type of energy be made in a short amount of time. The most often used non-renewable energy sources used today are:
- Oil and Petroleum
- Natural Gas
- Coal
- Uranium
What is Better?
Is non-renewable energy better than renewable energy? That is a good question to ask a scientist who specializes in that area of study. Even if you were to ask scientists who specialize in that area of study, the answers would be mixed. But, from an environmental point of view, renewable energy wins over non-renewable energy any day of the week.
Explanation
The reason why renewable energy wins over non-renewable energy is because the energy that is consumed from the renewable sources can be replenished in a short amount of time. Once the non-renewable energy gets all used up, there will be no more of that type of energy left to consume. At least, when the renewable energy gets consumed, there is the same type of energy to replace what has been consumed.
Big Scare
With the alarming depletion rate of non-renewable energy being consumed, there is big scare in the world about what will happen when all of the non-renewable energy gets consumed. Governments all around the world are scrambling to find alternative energy sources to replace the non-renewable energy sources. Non-renewable energy is now on the decline concerning the goals of the world’s governments.
