Tip: A mouth full of baking soda may not be very pleasant, so adding it to a glass of water can make this remedy much easier to swallow.

Sure enough, black licorice has healing tendencies in small amounts and a few studies have shown that a serving of black licorice after a meal may help the lining of your esophagus and stomach just enough to prevent heartburn. 3. Raw Almonds
Another way to fight against heartburn is by eating alkaline producing foods that will lower the pH levels in your stomach. Raw almonds are the perfect way to balance your pH levels, because of the high amounts of calcium within them.
