The royal new parents of Prince George, Prince William and Kate Middleton are taking a royal tour of New Zealand and Australia. At the young age of eight months old, Prince George will get to experience a three week tour of the countries during the rest of April, 2014. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge touched down into the land of New Zealand on April 7th, with young Prince George in escort.
The Defense Force Maori Cultural Group welcomed the young family as their first arrival in the Government House of Wellington, New Zealand. There they were guests of a function with local mayors and other government staff present.
Their visit wasn’t all work and no play however. Prince George welcomed the attention of a baby playgroup accompanied by his royal parents along with ten other families at the Blundell Room at the Government House on April 9.
During their visit in New Zealand, the couple attended the wreath-laying ceremony (without the presence of their son) and in the extent of the day, the couple exchanged laughs as Prince William sat in a vintage plane located at the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre. The couple also unveiled a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II in the evening of the day while on their visit to the Government House.
Also during their three-week tour of Australia and New Zealand, the couple participated in fun events such as a competitive race of water sailing. Before leaving New Zealand, Kate Middleton met with children who are terminally ill and affected by cancer. Debunking rumors of a second pregnancy, Kate joined her husband Prince William for several glasses of wine before leaving their New Zealand tour.
