For many years I worked as a restaurant cook and I still cook at home almost every night. Although I have several frying pans, saucepans and baking dishes, the one cooking pan that I utilize more than any other is a metal pizza pan.
The pizza pan that I had used until approximately one month ago for more than a dozen years definitely needed replacement. Being a regular Family Dollar store customer, I had seen their store brand pizza pan on display a few times and thought that it looked like a good pan.
A few weeks ago, I decided to purchase one of those pizza pans and I’m very glad that I did so. Presented here in an effort to assist the consumer, is an article in which the author reviews the Family Chef Pizza Pan, which is sold at Family Dollar stores everywhere.

Although the pan is fairly large in size, its flat shape makes it easy to store.
The regular retail price charged for one Family Chef Pizza Pan at the Hartford, Connecticut Family Dollar store where I frequently shop is $5. To me, the price seems very reasonable. I have seen similar pizza pans selling for higher prices at other retail stores.
The Family Chef Pizza Pan sold at Family Dollar stores is a good looking pan that is metallic silver in color. The non-stick finish on the pan gives it somewhat of a shiny appearance.
Care / Washing
This pizza pan is very easy to wash. The non-stick finish is quite effective, all types of food simply wipe off of the pan with a sponge or cloth under running water. The pan is also dishwasher-safe.
Because the pizza pan is made of steel, it is advised that the pan be washed fairly quickly, because steel pans can rust if exposed to water for long periods of time.
Although I have yet to cook a pizza on the Family Chef Pizza Pan, I have cooked a range of other items, including frozen fried chicken, hot open-faced sandwiches, French fries, garlic bread and onion rings.
Everything I have cooked on this pizza pan has turned out to be cooked evenly and effectively. The pan produces no funky aftertaste, but it does hold its heat. The pan can be quite hot for a minute or two after it is removed from the oven. ´
Quality / Overall Rating
The Family Chef Pizza Pan from Family Dollar stores is definitely a very good quality product. It is large enough to cook multiple items simultaneously and its non-stick finish really does work.
If you’re looking for a basic, good-quality pizza pan that is reasonably priced, look no further than your local Family Dollar store.
