Every human being on the face of this earth desires one thing above all others, PEACE! Many of us desire to do things in our lives that promotes peace towards others while others are content in just searching for the peace that is within each of us.
However, there are those that are lost and have yet to ever glimpse the beautiful light of peace and mostly because they do not have, an understanding of what peace really is. Peace is actually different for every human on earth but the core of it is the same and tat core of peace is what each of us build upon.
I, for example, believe that for one to understand peace, one must understand that art of Peacemaking. One must also understand what it means for you and for the world. To encourage harmony between individuals or groups of people is to be a peacemaker. It all begins within us as a hunger, a hunger for peace and the basic understanding that all others desire the same thing just as we do. It’s just that we cannot find a way to get there together.
From the unassuming suspicion that our own perspective is limited and that there may be truths that we can discover if we just listen grows peacemaking, you see, peacemaking requires each of us to be open in our thought. It requires an extreme willingness to see as many sides of any issue as we can, to see ourselves in the same situation as the others involved.
Peacemaking has one great enemy though and that enemies name is, FEAR! When we allow fear to guide us we allow it to turn us into the victims that we were trying to defend. For one to embrace peacemaking in no way means that we can always avoid conflict, I know this from 1st hand experience, but it allows us to really see the real costs and to weigh the consequences.
Friends, peacemaking is a journey, sometimes it is a pleasant journey, and sometimes it is not but it is our journey to take if we so choose.
Now with that we must each take what our world, Universe, God gives to us, and in return, we must always offer peace back to them. WE must STOP holding on to the moments and wishing that they could be different. Take heart that it is gone from your playing board of life and know you now have room for another good moment. Live your moments as they are and let them be, that in itself is a sense of peace, is it not?
Do not make your efforts to find peace a fight, just make them efforts and achieve all kinds of wonderful, great and ambitious things and do so with a peaceful heart. What good is success if you must go against your own best nature to reach it? Work to succeed not through conflict, but through a peaceful, useful, helpful, loving presence.
Each of you has a choice each day to live in peace or to live in turmoil. Which do you choose?
Offer peace to those around you, and most certainly to yourself. Experience the positive, highly effective power that comes from rising above the conflicts.
Peace is within you, peace is all around you! You lift a stone and look at the earth, peace is there. You look into a loved one’s eyes, peace is there. As you read these last words in your mind, PEACE IS THERE!
