Our body experiences different pains and sensations. Too often people like to ignore these pains without realizing that they can be the alarms and signs of bigger troubles coming up. The best thing to do when you experience an odd pain in the body is to go to a doctor and have the necessary checkup done on time. Of course, you will know when the pain is due to an injury but even old injuries are forgotten many times. If you are experiencing pain in the left side of your body, you should take it seriously. Here’s why you should be serious about this type of pain:
It Could Be Related To Your Heart
The pain in left side can be a big indication of a cardiovascular problem. The heart is a little to the left side of our bodies and even the slightest and most minor heart attacks will give you a slight pain on the left side. This pain might seem to move to the right or to your back at times. You might see that your body is suddenly drenched in cold sweats and your arms are feeling heavier. Sudden fatigue is another sign of heart attacks or of a coming heart attack. You might also see that your breathing has been disturbed i.e. your breaths are shorter now.
It Could Be Related To Your Lungs Or Chest
Chest pain is a big symptom of lung cancer too. It doesn’t mean that whenever you feel pain in chest you have lung cancer but it’s best that you have a checkup done as soon as possible. A broken or injured rib is also a big cause of pain on the left side. Difficulty of breathing and constant coughing can be signs indicating that you have lung cancer or something wrong with your lungs. Your ribs are not fully bones but they are connected to the sternum with the help of cartilage bones. Inflammation of this point where the cartilage meets hard bone can also cause pain in your left side of the chest.
It Could Be Related To Your Abdomen
There are many different types of pains that take place in your abdomen. You can feel almost all types of pain in the abdominal area, i.e. sweet, mild, severe, pangs etc. the stomach, spleen, descending colon, left kidney, left urethra, left adrenal gland etc. are all organs that can be associated with the pain you are feeling in the left side of your abdomen. Hernia, kidney stones, endometriosis, constipation, food poisoning, crohns disease, bowel obstruction etc. are all conditions where you can feel pain on the left abdominal area.
It Could Be Related Gynecology
Left fallopian tube could experience pains. Most women believe that it will be recognized with the bleeding from vagina but that’s rarer. This is called ectopic pregnancy. Pelvic inflammatory disease can also be a big cause of the pain in left side of the body. Stay in touch with a doctor and keep having proper tests to make sure that the mild pain you just ignored is not an alarm trying to warn you.
