One of the amazing things about my mom is that she is an awesome gift giver-or I could just simply be a spoiled brat. Probably the latter.
My mom is always receiving HSN email alerts about specials they are having, which is how she came across the OPI The Iconics + Essentials kit. She purchased two kits: one for me and one for herself.
The kit comes in a sturdy black and red box with the following enclosed:
- · 1 Big red apples polish (0.5 oz)
- · 1 Russian navy polish (0.5 oz)
- · 1 Bubble bath polish (0.5 oz)
- · 1 Suzi’s Hungary AGAIN! Polish (0.5 oz)
- · 1 Start-to-finish formaldehyde free all-in-one top and base coat
- · 1 Cuticle oil to go
- · 1 Avoplex high instensity hand and nail cream
- · 1 Expert touch lacquer remover (4 oz)
- · 1 Expert touch nail wipes (200 count)
- · 1 OPI crystal file
If you are someone who appreciates quality nail polishes, then you will absolutely love the ones included in this kit. The colors are rich and vibrant, and adheres to the nails smoothly leaving a gloss finish.
Even though I love everything in the kit, my absolute favorite is the Expert Touch remover. In the past, it has taken me at least 30 minutes to remove all the polish from my nails-and that’s if I didn’t get tired and take a break. With the Expert Touch, it only takes me about three wipes to remove the polish which cuts down the time used for that process significantly.
I like the all-in-one base and top coat because it reduces the time used for another step. When doing my nails, I love the cuticle oil because it has allowed me to effectively remove m cuticles without damaging my fingers or my nail bed. I only use this oil once a week, but it has lasted a very long time considering I have had the kit for months now and I have attractive fingers because of it.
If you are someone suffering with dry hands, then you will be very pleased with the hand cream. Not only does it moisturizes your hands, but it softens them and they remain moisturized for quite a while throughout the day. I personally have to deal with paperwork all day long-as well as washing dishes on a regular-so the moisture gets zapped from my hands pretty frequently costing my lots of money when it comes to hand lotions. Also, the lotion has no scent making it easy on folks like myself who suffer from allergies, especially when dealing with loud perfumes or other obnoxious scents.
Lastly, the OPI crystal file has change my opinion of nail files and the importance of filing my nails. I’m used to those sandpaper/wood files which sucks for me because my nails always look worse after than before. Maybe it was my filing skills, but the crystal file is a lot better for me because it gives me a clean finish, without the feel of my nails going across a chalk board. I hate them feeling.
Overall, I think my mom invested well in a great gift. OPI The Iconics + Essentials kit is perfect for those who are beginners in nail care and nail art. Everything included in the kit is of the highest quality possible-not surprising since it is OPI we’re talking about. I have recently learned HSN no longer carries the kit I have, but they do carry the individual items included as well as similar OPI. You can also find everything I listed in my kit at other retailers as well.
