How long has it been since you had a raise as an online writer? I gave myself one today. In fact, I give myself raises all the time. That’s the beauty of working for yourself. Now, we all know the hard way to give yourself a raise as an online writer. It’s called writing more. It works. Still, there are ways to earn more money that don’t involve late nights and impaired vision. It may sound contradictory. Still, here’s how you can write more articles without spending all your free time at the keyboard.
Write the easy way.
I used to think it was a cop-out to formulate, outline and write my articles similarly. Now, I know, it’s the best way to make the most money in the least amount of time. It doesn’t matter if your articles are fancy, with big words and complicated phrases or simple, short and sweet. As long as they hold your reader’s interest, they will make you a profit.
Form an article chain.
Once you get on a subject, explore every angle of the subject. However, don’t make the mistake of putting it all in one article. Once you address a subject, multiple angles will naturally flow from your mind. Use each angle to write a separate article. Why get paid to write just one article, when you can get several from a single train of thought? Make your point, then move on to the next angle quickly. I’ve written as many as 20 articles in a single day using this technique.
Short and sweet gets and keeps their attention.
Probably the best part about writing quick, to the point articles is that they suit the needs of the online reader best. People don’t go online to read long winded dissertations. They want quick answers to their questions. They want informative, entertaining, easy to read articles that are fast to skim through. Then, they want to move on with their lives. So, if you want to increase your page views, therefore giving yourself a quick raise, give the reader what they want.
The easiest article to write
The easiest articles to compose come from personal experience. With some subjects, you can spend more time doing research than you do writing the article. That’s fine if you’re writing a high dollar assignment for a specific client. However, most online writing consists of unsolicited articles, small upfront payments and page view revenue.
The more time you spend writing the article, the less you make per hour.
Do include valuable, helpful information the reader will find useful. Do include links to facts supporting your statements. Don’t spend so much time doing research that you are barely making a minimum hourly wage. Give yourself a raise by writing quickly and efficiently.
