As a citizen of the United States of America I feel let down by my president. I am not inspired by his stand on the Russian invasion of the Ukraine. I do not see any practical knowledge or command of the issue at hand. I also don’t see any effort by my President to be decisive in action or inaction, whichever he decides is appropriate, concerning this matter. Mr. Obama is not the leader I want.
Obama Not Acting Serious About Russia
President Obama has shown a lack of respect or interest for the events unfolding in the Ukraine. Shortly after Russia invaded and he gave a short three minute comment he was quick to kick off happy hour with his fellow democrats. At work and in my personal life those I look up to are the first to put off fun when a critical development occurs that needs attention. Obama was not the leader I wanted.
Obama Seems Detached From Current Reality In Ukraine
President Obama has demonstrated surface academic prognosis of the situation as it has unfolded. First by focusing on the historical impact of the events he has shown no concern for the current impact of these events. We don’t live in the future and how the future judges this time is not what I want my president to be concerned with. I prefer a practical assessment of the events and a demonstration of concern for what future events could transpire from this one.
Whatever may happen in this situation and the effects that spin off from it have not been addressed or seeming considered. When I read stories about President Obama and his staff responding to this event they seem to have the viewpoint of a novice chess player. They speak in terms of the last move, and have no assessment of or concern for the next three moves. Mr. Obama and his staff are not being the leaders I want.
What A Leader Should Be
When I sit and think of the people who were my leaders in life; in work, sports, and my personal life certain traits come to mind. Those who I enjoyed following were confident and decisive. They also showed the utmost concern for those they were in charge of. Most importantly they always demonstrated total command over the situation they were in charge of. They were the go to authority which I knew I could trust the most. I do not hear any of these qualities in the remarks or actions of President Obama. Obama is not being the leader I want.
