If you love fashion magazines as much as I do, then you might have a huge pile of them sitting in an isolated corner of your home, waiting to know where they will end up next. After these magazines have been read, and shuffled through, it seems almost wrong to have to throw them away. Well you’re right, it is wrong because there are several things you can do with those magazines besides landing them in the dumpsters. Below are a few of those ideas.
Make collages! Though making collages may seem like an activity for teenage girls, grown women can find benefits for the collages as well. By cutting out positive words, articles, or quotes out of magazines and placing them together for display, you will be reinforcing positivity, confidence, strength, and beauty into your mind and everyday life each morning. In a pessimistic world, any place where we can gain some optimism, is a great thing. Why not make that place, on your wall in a collage which you created yourself?
Reuse them as scrap paper for art projects. If you are a crafty DIY person, or if you have children, saving your old magazines for projects is the perfect idea. Not only can you cut out pictures and words out of them, but magazines can also be used as a protective table covering. Just simply lay them out on a table as a covering for any arts ‘n crafts projects being created for a less messy project making day.
Give them as gifts to your girlfriends. There is nothing wrong with handing over your already read magazines to your girlfriends to enjoy as well. Being a great girlfriend involves sharing information, trends, or beauty tips, especially if it’s with people you care about. And every woman can always use a good magazine to read at the beach, or in a plane, or to place in their bathroom when they’re doing the do! Just because you’ve discovered the next best fashion or beauty tip, doesn’t mean your friends can be in on the secret as well. Remember, sharing is caring!
And last but not least, if you have to get rid of them, be sure to recycle them! Sometimes we just need to make space or clear our homes of junk which may include our used magazines. Nothing is wrong with that. The only thing that can be wrong with that though is if you decide to throw them away instead of recycling them. It’s a very simple step in helping the environment, so if you have to toss those magazines, make sure you’re at least tossing them into the recycling bin!
Try these tips on reusing those old fashion magazines, and you’ll feel less guilty when you buy your next one!
