Even though it doesn’t seem like it, winter eventually ends in the northern part of New Hampshire. When it does, one of my favorite things to do with my kids is to go mini golfing. Like anywhere else, there are courses aplenty in N.H., but here are three of my favorites.
Hobo Hills Adventure Golf
Since the Hobo Railroad train station is right next door, this course is themed to represent the “Hobo” life. Whimsical hobo characters, waterfalls, and beautifully manicured grounds make this course a great rest stop while touring the White Mountains of N.H. Hobo Hills is located on Main St. (Route 112) in Lincoln, NH, and is open from Mid May through Mid October with summer hours from 9 AM to 9:30 PM. Prices are $8.50 for adults and $7.50 for children. Make sure you wave to the train engineer when the Hobo Railroad passes by.
Moose Meadow Mini Golf
Set back from busy Main St. (Routes 2/16) in Gorham, N.H., this quaint course is located next to the scenic Androscoggin River. When you’re done enjoying your round of golf, take a break in their well equipped arcade, give the batting cage a whirl, or throw down a blanket along the river bank and enjoy the quiet scenery. Open from the end of May through the end of September with summer hours from 9 AM to 10 PM. Prices are $7 for adults and $6 for children. Finding Moose Meadow is easy, just look for the golfing moose statue on the side of the road.
Part of Funspot, which bills itself as the world’s largest arcade, the “Famous Landmarks of NH” mini golf course is located in the Lakes Region of NH at 579 Endicott Street North (Route 3). Not only is this course fun, but it will give you a quick history lesson on some of the more notable landmarks of N.H. After you’ve tested your golfing skills outside, step inside and get reacquainted with some of your favorite arcade games both vintage and cutting edge. The course is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day from 9 AM to 11 PM and the cost is $5 per person. The Funspot Arcade is open year round.
When my family and I are out exploring the scenic beauty of northern New Hampshire, these three mini golf courses are on our “must do” list whenever we’re nearby. I believe you and your family will enjoy them too!
