The Riverside County is going to have a wide variety of activities to celebrate those who have walked before us with celebrations that honor and fun filled activities for everyone.
The West Coast Thunder Memorial Day Bike Run XV
On May 26, 2014, they will have their motorcycle bike run to the Riverside National Cemetery.
An all-day event that starts with breakfast, speakers, bike ride/parade, and ends up at the Soboba Casino, San Jacinto with a concert and other fun filled activities.
The pre-registration cost per person is $45.00 and the day of the event, it goes up to $50.00 per person. This fee includes the following items:
What does registration includes:
- One-breakfast coupon for continental breakfast at Riverside Harley-Davidson
- One-General Admission Concert Ticket
- One-WCT XV Ride Pin (first 1500 registered only).
- One-An American Flag and zip ties to mount to your bike.
- One-Opportunity Drawing Ticket
- One-Headlight Sticker for the preferred staging that needs placed on the bike before staging.
- One-West Coast Thunder T-Shirt (T-shirt coupon provided for T-shirt pick-up)
The registration and staging for this event starts at 6:00a.m., at the Skip Fordyce Riverside Harley-Davidson Dealership located on Indiana Ave. and Adams St. Riverside CA.
The parade will start at 9:11a.m to the Riverside National Cemetery. If you do not ride a bike this is a wonderful parade to watch. Please see the below link for additional information for this activity.

Riverside National Cemetery Celebration Ceremony

On May 24, 2014 is “A Flag for Every Hero” which is the placing of an American Flag on every fallen soldier’s grave-site. The volunteers will gather at 8:00a.m.
On May 25, 2014, “Roll Call” will take place starting at 9:00a.m. At the Flag Pole Plaza to read the names of over 5000, Veterans names interred between 6-1-13 and 5-24-14.
On May 26, 2014, The Memorial Day Ceremony will start with The Riverside Concert Band playing at 10:30a.m with the ceremony to start at 11:00a.m. There will be speakers and Military Honors.
Animals for Armed Forces
On May 24-May25, 2014 The Mary S. Roberts Pet Adoption Center will be having free pet adoptions for the first 50 active duty and reserve personal.

Evergreen Memorial Historic Cemetery
Located at 4414 14th Street Riverside Ca 92501 it is Riverside’s oldest cemetery with 177 Civil War Veterans interred there.
On May 24, 2014 at noon, gather for a “Civil War Veteran & Grand Army of the Republic Traditional” service.
The ceremony will take place at the Grand Army of the Republic Circle.
The Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will be wearing period uniforms for this celebration. General Stoneman of Camp 18 will be officiating. There will be wreath presentation, musket salute, placing of flowers and bagpipe music.
