Marijuana isn’t usually something women think of being incorporated into their makeup products. However, there is a new fad in town – one where marijuana is being used to create a new kind of makeup and cosmetic products. Medical cannabis dispensaries are currently the only place in which these cosmetics may be purchased within the United States. Due to increasing popularity of these medicinal infused cosmetics across the globe, it won’t be long before we see these products being sold on store shelves readily available for anyone who wants to purchase them.
Ah Aimee Warner, a resident of Seattle, Washington, has created her own medical marijuana cosmetic line, and has named it, “Cannabis Basics”. She has been advocating marijuana for quite some time now; over 20 years, to be exact, and is currently seeing fantastic results with her new THC infused products. She attended High Times Magazine’s 40th Anniversary in Denver, Colorado, on April 20th , 2014 which just so happens to be weed’s “birthday”, to introduce her products and support the cause.
The question proposed is what would make women want to buy marijuana infused ingredients? Perhaps it’s because this is a brand new concept, and women are quick to jump on the bandwagon of what may or may not be the next fountain of youth containing product. Maybe they believe these products will lead to a fresher appearance, more glowing and glamorous. Maybe – just maybe, and not to be too far fetched, here – some women just like to do things that are socially unacceptable. Wearing weed on your face isn’t quite socially approved – but that’s what some women like about it.
As marijuana gains wider acceptance throughout the world, and becomes legalized for medical purposes, one can only hope the next step will be complete legalization for the drug – whether for medicinal use or otherwise – as the benefits of marijuana far outweigh any negativity surrounding the drug. Realistically, people die every day due to alcohol abuse and cigarette smoking – both of which are legal, and lethal. Marijuana does not in any way contain the complexities or toxins with which alcohol and cigarettes contain, nor does it contain addictive properties.
As the desire for these products spreads ever more globally, one must ask themselves – is it really that bad, and are we missing something, here?
Before long, products like Ah Aimee’s medical marijuana cosmetics could be making their way to a store shelf near you.
